It’s officially Men’s Health Month—a great time to talk about the "tough it out" mentality. 🛠️👟

𝗪𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹: You tweak your knee on the soccer field, feel a pull in your back while working on a home project, or ignore that nagging ankle pain after a long run. Your first instinct? Just "walk it off" and hope it feels better by Monday.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Small, untreated injuries often lead to bigger, long-term problems. What feels like a minor ache today could be a ligament strain or a hairline fracture that needs proper care to heal correctly.

Radiology isn't just about big accidents; it’s about taking control of your health so you can stay in the game, on the field, and at work for the long haul.

Don’t let a lingering ache become a season-ending injury. Get it checked. 🦴

We know that coming in for a scan can feel a bit overwhelming, so we’re here to make the process as smooth as possible. 🕊️

While we are will always provide a gown, these tips below can make the process smoother.

1️⃣ Go Metal-Free: If possible, leave jewelry, underwire bra, metal accessories, and items with zippers at home. It’s safer for the equipment and faster for you!
2️⃣ Bring a Buddy: If you must bring valuables, please leave them with a loved one who is accompanying you.
3️⃣ Speak Up: Always, always inform your radiographer if you are—or think you might be—pregnant.

Your safety is our top priority! 💙

In a perfect world, every patient could stroll down to the Radiology department. But in the real world? Minutes matter, and mobility is everything.

Whether it’s a critical check in the ICU, a quick assessment in the ER, or a bedside follow-up, our Mobile X-Ray units (the "sparklers" of the medical world!) are fueled up and ready to roll.

This World Malaria Day, we’re looking beneath the surface.

While malaria is typically diagnosed through a blood test, our team here often plays a crucial role in managing the disease—especially when it becomes severe.

Spotting the Signs: On an abdominal CT or Ultrasound, we often see enlargement of the liver and spleen (hepatosplenomegaly), which can be a key clinical indicator of a malaria infection.

Managing Complications: In severe cases, imaging is vital for detecting lung fluid (pulmonary edema).

Differential Diagnosis: When a patient has a "mystery fever," our scans help rule out other causes, ensuring the patient gets the right treatment, faster.

Remember that prevention is key!
If you’ve returned from a high-risk area and feel unwell, don't ignore "flu-like" symptoms. Early diagnosis saves lives.

Not all lumps are created equal!

Whether it’s a thyroid nodule, a swollen lymph node, or a benign cyst, an ultrasound is the "gold standard" for the first look.

Unlike an X-ray, an ultrasound shows us the internal architecture of a mass in real-time. Our radiologists look for specific "markers"—like irregular borders or increased blood flow—to determine if a lump is just a harmless neighbour or something that needs a closer look.

The best part?
✅ No radiation
✅ No "closed-in" tunnels
✅ Takes about 15–20 minutes

Has your doctor mentioned a neck scan?
