1 need to be appointed if you have 10 employees.
1 needed per shift / on site.
1 first aid box needed for workplace of less than 10, but 5 or more.

🧯Fire Fighters:

Required where a Fire risk exists - every workplace.
1 needed per department / shift / on site.

✅️ SHE Representatives:

1 for 20 employees or more - up to 100 employees for offices / shops
1 for 20 employees or more - up to 50 employees for factories / other workplaces

Buying fake or fraudulently obtained Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) certificates — or any training certificates — can have serious legal, financial, and criminal consequences in South Africa.

Criminal Charges
⛔️Using or buying a fake certificate can amount to:
⛔️Fraud
⛔️Forgery
⛔️Uttering a forged document (presenting a fake certificate as genuine)
⛔️Misrepresentation

If an incident occurs and investigators discover the certificate is fraudulent, both the person using it and the provider who issued/sold it can face criminal prosecution.

Employer Liability
⚠️If an employer knowingly accepts fake certificates:
⚠️The company may be found non-compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
⚠️The Department of Employment and Labour may issue:
📢Improvement notices
📢Prohibition notices
📢Fines
📢Shutdown orders in serious cases

Employers have a legal duty to ensure workers are properly trained and competent.

Civil Liability
‼️If someone is injured or killed because an unqualified person performed safety duties:
‼️The employer
‼️The training provider
‼️The individual using the fake certificate
could all potentially be sued for damages.

Example:
Fake first aid certificate → incorrect treatment → death or worsening injury
Fake forklift/operator certificate → accident → injury or fatality

Cancellation or Blacklisting
Fraudulent certificates can be:
❌️Cancelled or withdrawn
❌️Reported to authorities
❌️Recorded against the individual or provider
❌️Training providers can lose accreditation, approvals, or registration status.

Employment Consequences
An employee found using fraudulent certificates may face:
😥Immediate dismissal

😥Difficulty obtaining future employment
