What an incredible and successful day as we commemorated World Trauma Day with an interactive trauma awareness event focused on emergency preparedness and community wellness.

Highlights of the day included:
• Helicopter landing demonstration showcasing the safe arrival of a critically injured trauma patient
• Drowning rescue simulation presented by NSRI
• Wellness screenings and health checks
• Relaxing massages for our visitors and healthcare teams
• Exciting prize giveaways and community engagement activities

The event provided valuable insight into the coordinated effort required during trauma emergencies and highlighted the importance of rapid response, teamwork, and quality patient care.

Dr. Rohan Lutchman, Specialist Cardiologist, led a highly informative session on ECG interpretation for patients presenting with chest pain. Dr. Lutchman walked attendees through key clinical indicators, subtle ischemic changes, and critical diagnostic red flags to look for when every second counts.

Celebrating World Heart Day at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital
Busamed Gateway Private Hospital proudly celebrated World Heart Day in collaboration with Dr Haroon Mia, Cardiologist, with a morning dedicated to raising awareness about heart health and encouraging our community to prioritise their wellbeing.

Community members had access to FREE health screenings, including:
 Blood pressure checks
 Blood glucose testing
 Weight assessments
 KardiaMobile ECG recordings

The KardiaMobile provided participants with an opportunity to have an ECG recording taken and receive an analysis within 30 seconds, adding another valuable element to the day's heart health awareness activities.

For some participants, their screening results served as an important reminder that it may be time to make healthier lifestyle choices and pay closer attention to their overall wellbeing.

The day was filled with health education, stress balls, exciting prize giveaways and great community engagement, making our World Heart Day celebration a resounding success.

During the congress, Dr Moolla joined leaders of colorectal surgical societies from BRICS and BRICS+ nations, including representatives from Russia, Egypt, and Iran, in discussions focused on establishing a BRICS+ Colorectal Society.

A New Chapter in Patient Care at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital

We are proud to officially open our new 30 bedded adult ward, incorporating six dedicated isolation rooms — an exciting addition to the hospital as we continue to expand our capacity and enhance the services available to our patients and specialists.

The opening was attended by Busamed Group Founder, Dr Diliza Mji, Group CEO Mr Thabiso Buku, together with our resident specialists, management, nursing teams and staff who witnessed this special milestone.

The six isolation rooms have been designed to provide a safe and appropriate environment for patients requiring isolation care. This added capacity provides greater flexibility in managing a variety of clinical needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety, infection prevention and comfort.

This expansion reflects our continued dedication to delivering world-class healthcare, greater comfort, and enhanced patient care to the communities we serve. The additional capacity will enable us to meet the growing healthcare needs of our patients while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, compassion, and service.
