The inspiration for launching Odyssey in 1977 was to publish a magazine, with solid journalistic integrity that support

ed the equality of all people, the honouring of earth and all living things, and societal transformation. In 2022 Odyssey Magazine still has maintained a traditional journalistic approach with content that counts and nourishes and is mainly concerned with the practice of providing news, reviews, columns, features, and related social and wellness content, voicing certain issues that are prevalent in the holistic, conscious and green living space. Odyssey supports engaged spirituality, the active engagements of our hearts, and awareness in service of the higher and collective good, honouring the sacredness of our Earth mother and all living things. It’s a deep commitment to societal transformation responding to our world’s suffering with wisdom and deep care. Traditional journalism focuses on the important stuff that is happening, not only on our planet and in our world, but outside our windows, in the lives of our people, in our communities, and right here in our own hearts. That’s where Odyssey comes in.

Every journey has its seasons.

As Odyssey approaches her 50th year, we’re entering a new chapter.

We’re taking a hiatus as we shape the next iteration of Odyssey Magazine, and we look forward to welcoming you aboard again in early 2027.

Until then, the journey continues through the stories, conversations and ideas that have shaped Odyssey along the way.

Here’s to what comes next.

From Escape to Restoration.

What if travel wasn’t about getting away, but about returning to yourself?

In From Escape to Restoration: The Evolution of Wellness Travel, Wendi Ndima explores a new way of journeying. One where presence matters more than packed itineraries, and where rest, reflection and restoration become the destination.

Perhaps the greatest journey isn’t measured in miles travelled, but in how deeply we reconnect with ourselves along the way.

Beyond Valhalla: Finding Light Amid the Battle

Many of us spend our lives chasing the next milestone, believing peace exists somewhere just beyond the horizon.

In Beyond Valhalla: Finding Light Amid the Battle, Dr Jimmy Henderson invites us to pause and consider a different path. What if the light we’re searching for isn’t waiting at the end of the journey, but is found in the way we walk through it?

A thoughtful reflection on purpose, presence and discovering peace amidst life’s battles.

Bitter before the sweet.

Some seasons ask us to keep showing up, long before we understand where they are leading us.

In Bitter Before the Sweet, BodyTalk with Lucua reflects on commitment, integrity and the discomfort that so often accompanies becoming.

As Odyssey approaches the closing curtain of this chapter, these words feel especially poignant. Sometimes, the bitter is simply the passage to the sweet.
