Dr Pieter Polderman is an orthopaedic surgeon at Life St George’s Hospital. He has a special interest in hip, knees and shoulder surgery.

Dr Polderman completed his medical degree (MBChB) from the ‘Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine’, University of Zimbabwe in 1988. Dr Polderman also holds a Diploma in Anaesthetics, which he obtained in 1993. He became a Fellow of the Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa (FC Orth (SA)) and obtained his Masters of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Stellenbosch in 2001. Dr Polderman also completed a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty surgery from Bristol, United Kingdom in 2003.

Dr Michael Grundill is an orthopaedic surgeon at Life St George’s Hospital. He offers a wide range of general orthopaedic services including joint replacement surgery and treating sports injuries. He has a special interest in advanced shoulder, elbow and hand surgery in which he has completed further subspecialty training.

Dr Grundill obtained his undergraduate medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Stellenbosch and completed his specialisted orthopaedic training at Tygerberg Hospital’s Orthopaedic Department in Cape Town. He obtained his MMed and FCOrth(SA) specialist degrees in 2019. He subsequently completed a fellowship in upper limb surgery in 2022.

Dr Peter Botha is an orthopaedic surgeon at Life St George’s Hospital. His passion for orthopaedics is evident in his broad scope of experience, with a special interest in upper limb surgery, peripheral nerve surgery as well as hand and wrist surgery.

Dr Botha completed his orthopaedic speciality training at the University of Cape Town, Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. He also undertook a twelve-month clinical Fellowship in Hand and Wrist Surgery, which provided invaluable experience in trauma hand and wrist pathologies.

Dr Colin Audley is an orthopaedic surgeon at Life St George’s Hospital. He has a special interest in adult hip, knee, foot and hand surgery.

Dr Audley completed his orthopaedic specialist training at the University of Pretoria and obtained his MBChB at the University of Cape Town.

MEET OUR TEAM!

Those that work with me will know that I have a strong belief that healing is much about laughter and purpose as it is about splints and exercise. If you’ve visited our practice, you’ll know that the loud voice echoing down the passage belongs to me and I try not to take life too seriously, I’m the first one to crack a joke in an awkward situation! If I’m running a little late, it’s because I’m a chatter – and I love hearing people’s life stories and getting to know the person behind the injury that I’m helping them to overcome. Helping people is my passion!
