It will also strengthen your abdominals and back muscles which are known as your core. A strong core gives you a flatter stomach, reduces back and neck problems (helping reduce headaches), and improves balance. Nicola's pilates classes are fun, info

rmative and give great results. They are kept small so she can give each student individual attention to help you gain the most benefit from the exercises. Nicola teaches classes of all different levels from beginners to advanced. Please call her is you have any queries as she is always happy to discuss the classes with you.

Crackers, drive me crackers!!! Shop bought white crackers have very little nutritional value. So I made my own, to try to encourage my son to snack on something healthy, including seeds and using almond flour will boost the vitamin and fibre content of the cracker to prevent a blood sugar drop an hour after eating.

Green leafy vegetables are so full of nutrients. I would never have bought rocket or watercress before my nutrition course. Now I buy them every time I go shopping!
Add them to your shopping next time, they will aid energy production, improve nervous system function (less stress!) and help remove toxins from your system as well as being great for your digestion 👌

Making homemade granola is so quick and easy, simply mix oats, selection of nuts slightly crushed, your choice of seeds, stir into melted 2 tbsp coconut oil, 1tbsp local honey, 1tsp of cinnamon, ginger and gently cook in the oven. Enjoy with coconut yogurt, live yogurt or plant mylk. This type of breakfast will give you a stable source of energy until lunch time, without the need to reach for another cappuccino 🙂

We are all busy, but you have to make time to look after yourself, with good nutrition and with exercise. Try this exercise to improve spine mobility. If you don’t use it, you lose it…… muscles, bone density, memory, your health….

I’ve loved every minute of studying to become a Naturopathic nutritionist , I used to eat a sandwich everyday and didn’t understand about blood sugar control and why a drop in blood sugar after lunch left me feeling exhausted 😬Now lunch looks very different, my blood sugar is stable and I feel so much more alert all day! See link in bio if you are interested in studying at CNM

I have a bit of a bone 🦴 obsession!!! As we get older we need to make a conscious effort to maintain bone density. Heavy weights, skipping and body weight exercises such as press ups will all increase bone density.

Moving your body regularly is vital. One of the best ways to prevent backache is to keep your spine flexible but still strong. Practice this exercise regularly during tye day and before you go to bed. Your future self will thank you 🙂

As a final year nutrition student I’ve got used to including all my new knowledge in my meals…..
But now my 21 year son is home from Uni, it means being more imaginative to encourage his healthy eating while not driving him away!! These tips are a start…. By the end of the summer break he’ll be eating just how I do 😉

If you only have time for one exercise today - make it squats. And then do them again tomorrow! Squats are brilliant for your legs, bottom and spine but also they are fantastic for the brain. Increasing blood flow to the brain will aid concentration and boost your mood. If you do them while you are waiting for the kettle to boil or the coffee machine to make your coffee you are more likely to remember. It’s called habit stacking - try it 🙂
