Denise Sohandev Wellness Somatic Coach for Midlife Women
Regulate stress. Reclaim yourself. I am a believer in the innate healing powers of the body.

As a practitioner of Gabor Matè’s Compassionate Inquiry technique and an NLP Master Coach, I help clients unearth the root cause of their behaviours. I use these 2 modalities along with over 20 years of therapeutic yoga and breathwork experience to create an individualised healing experience for my clients. Having worked intimately with the body since 2007 I am passionate about guiding people to u

nderstand the complexities of the mind-body connection. One of my passions is to take the somewhat esoteric teachings of ancient yogic philosophy and practice, and present them in a way that is easily accessible to a contemporary lifestyle, using the ancient wisdom to create a full, rich and meaningful life in the 21st century. It is my belief that each client can be empowered to navigate the flow of life with grace and ease. I am a wife, mother and eternal student, taking the path less traveled on this journey of life.

This is for every woman who…
Stayed when she should have left
Said yes when she meant no
Said no and wasn’t heard
Laughed through her tears
Comforted when she needed comforting
Held it together when she should have fallen apart

We see you
Every one of you
Thank you for all you do

Now turn your gaze towards you
You deserve the love, support, compassion, energy and acceptance you so effortlessly share with others.

This women’s day
May you remember your light
May you rise up
May you see YOU

I’m not worthy.

When did you decide that you needed to prove your worth?

This is undoubtedly the most common belief I tackle with women in midlife. It’s crossed the boundaries of race, career, age, success… it seems to follow women - like an unwanted, but persistent stalker…

If you fall foul of this limiting belief, let’s chat, maybe it’s time to say goodbye for good.

Do you know your worth or are you on a never ending mission to prove that you deserve… love, acceptance, worth?

A woman who feels like she has to prove her worth may look like someone who:
- is afraid rest looks like laziness
- thinks NO will lead to rejection
- proves her value by DOING all the time
- believes that prioritising herself is lazy
- always feels like she could/should be doing more
- has to earn love

If any of these resonate I’d love to share an affirmation that has been so powerful in my own life (thanks to Gabrielle Bernstein for sharing this many years ago)

I have enough
I do enough
I am enough

Give yourself some space to step out of the old patterns and explore the possibilities of being enough.

One must remain vigilant…
Sometimes, it’s the most unexpected moments that produce maximum amounts of joy.

Rambling through the countryside in Ireland pointed out blueberries, growing wild, just begging to be eaten.

I was delighted.

Not a blueberry farm that we drove to for a fruit picking experience, but a serendipitous moment, stumbled upon unexpectedly while doing something else entirely.

Life is so full of these moments but for so many of us we’re head down in our phones, distracted by yesterday and tomorrow that we miss the magic of here and now.

Especially in midlife, when our lives can feel so full, so overwhelming, so intense.

So here’s your invitation, step out, leave your phone at home because you just never know when a peak moment will appear.

Moving through the seasons of life can feel intimidating, frightening and frustrating.

Each season brings its own joy and its own pain.

But you don’t need to throw everything out and start fresh each season… what if it’s more like pruning back what’s become unruly, planting some fresh seeds, watering what’s been neglected?

This season of your life, well, it’s the best season of your life… the reason, it’s the one you’re living.

Drowning in noise?
I’m not talking about the constant hum of the laptop and the fridge, not even the never ending news cycle or endless list of podcasts…

I’m talking about the noise from experts and professionals all around us.

The loud voices of people in authority (and sometimes some with no expertise but an abundance of confidence 😅) who all seem to know what YOU need. We live in a time of information and the ability to be discerning is become harder and harder.

Everyone seems to have an opinion about what’s best for you, whether it’s how you move, what you eat or the mindset you ought to have. And it is exhausting.

One day you should be cold plunging, the next day it’s the sauna, this constant consumption of information is confusing and stressful.

Learning to listen to YOUR body and YOUR needs is how we YOU grow.

That’s why the first thing I teach my clients is how to LISTEN to themselves again. I’m not the expert, you are. I don’t know what you need, but I can teach you to discern for yourself.

But the first thing you have to do is listen… to you for a change!
