We had Brush Projects, and Temba, lead by Joseph come in to repair storm damage at Vipassana, Dhamma Pataka in Worcester.

From start to finish their professionalism stood out. The team took real ownership of the job, worked with pride, and treated the property with care and respect.
They put in long days and weekends to get everything completed on time, without cutting corners.

It was a pleasure having them stay and work at the center. The repairs were done thoroughly and with attention to detail.

Thank you Temba, Joseph and the whole Brush Projects team. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable, hard-working builders who care about the job.

Reconstruction is underway at Dhamma Pataka! 👏

An update:
•Insurance claim has been processed and reconstruction on the dining room and kitchen has begun.
•It was decided there's no time like the present to give the ladies' dining room entrance a little makeover. The new entrance is positioned to keep things more private. This was done using donations
•The electric fence is nearly finished being repaired, this was also paid for from donations.

In Gauteng today - A children's course called MITRA was held! 🎉 (Mind in Training for Right Awareness)

During this mini course, children are given special Anapana meditation instructions (meditation aimed at concentrating and calming the mind using natural breath).

The MITRA course was followed by a short Anapana session for interested adults in the afternooon.

May all who got a taste of Anapana today, find themselves practising Vipassana in the future, walking on the path of purification of the mind. May they find real peace and harmony in their lives 🙏

Storm Damage at Dhamma Pataka in South Africa 🧘⛈️🇿🇦

Current Situation:
•Nearly all fallen trees have now been cleared.
•The new solar-powered water pumps are operational, and the water supply has been restored.
•Electricity from the main grid has not yet been restored.
•The Satipaṭṭhāna course and two 10-day courses had to be cancelled. The next course is scheduled to begin on 20 June.

The insurance company has visited the centre to assess the damage. We are currently waiting for approval of repair quotations before professional builders can begin the necessary work.

How Can You Help?

The insurance policy does not cover the damage to the electric fences or the new solar-powered water system.

If you are an old student and would like to contribute financially towards the recovery effort, you can use the bank details available here - https://pataka.dhamma.africa/donation/

Kindly use one of the following references so that your donation can be allocated appropriately:

•Fence - for repairs to the electric fencing
•Water – for the solar-powered water system
•General – for overall storm recovery and repair costs

Alternatively, you can always keep Dhamma Pataka and its future students in mind when practising Mettā Bhāvanā at the end of your meditations 🙂

With metta,
Dhamma Pataka

Question: We are, of course, working at the intellectual level here, which is inevitable for the moment. But could you explain more about the body being vibrational?
And is one always responsible for the agitation in one’s own body, or is one susceptible to the vibrations coming from someone else?

Goenkaji: Whatever vibration comes from outside, it will certainly try to affect you. But if you are your own master inside, then your vibration will be so strong that you will start helping and purifying the vibration outside. If I am a weak person, anything will try to overpower me.

If agitation is coming, and I am a weak person, I’ll succumb to that. If I am a strong person, I don’t mind any kind of thing coming my way—I generate my vibration, which is a vibration of love, compassion, goodwill, stability, equanimity, and I’m not harmed.

So that’s why we say in Vipassana that one hundred percent of the cause of our misery is within ourselves, not outside. One hundred percent of the cause of our happiness is within ourselves, not outside. We are our own masters. Develop that mastery of yourself and you will become a happy person.
