What is Democracy?
Is it challenging each other within the same party? or challenging the ruling party when you are in the opposition? Is it about saying what you feel like without considering the emotions of others? I believe democracy has a sense of feeling and consideration. I believe democracy has eyes to see and emotions to protect. Democracy has a sense of understanding and ovoids appearances of destructive evil. I feel democracy promotes unity, respect and love for each other.
Key Features of Democracy:
• “Free and Fair Elections: Leaders are chosen through transparent, competitive elections where all eligible citizens can vote.”
• “Equality and Rights: Every individual has equal rights under the law, including freedom of speech, assembly, and belief.”
• “Rule of Law: Laws apply equally to all citizens, including leaders.”
Why Democracy Matters:
• “Protects Human Rights: Ensures freedom of expression and equality.”
• “Encourages Participation: Citizens influence policies that affect their lives.”
• “Promotes Stability: Governments are accountable and can be peacefully changed.”
• “Fosters Innovation: Diverse voices and ideas strengthen societies.”
My soul is troubled:
Please politicians, fight your political opponents with democratic love and respect. We only have one Zambia. Those of you who have chosen to fight your own family publicly, remember not to wash your dirty linen in public, it embarrasses your family.
In answering the critics, Jesus said:
Luke 11:17-18 “Every kingdom divided against itself is doomed to destruction; and a house [divided] against itself falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand [and] continue to survive?” (AMP)
As a Christian Nation we should believe in:
• God’s Sovereignty:• Daniel 2:21 says, “He removes kings and establishes them.” This reflects the belief that God controls the rise and fall of leaders.
• Romans 13:1-4 teaches that all authority is established by God, and leaders are considered His servants for maintaining order.
Even as I pray for peace in this election period, I wish all politicians the best with love for the nation of Zambia.
