Organised by The Copperbelt Biomedical Associations' Joint Executive Committee, Sponsored by among others, Biomedical Society of Zambia and hosted at Mukuba University under the theme “Future Ready Laboratory Professionals: From Students to Solutions”, on 29th May 2026. The event brought together students, lecturers, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to share knowledge, network, and inspire innovation.

We celebrate the active participation of students, the guidance from seasoned professionals, and the strengthened collaboration among biomedical student associations across the Copperbelt.

Communicating Biomedical Impact

The Biomedical Society of Zambia - BMSZ, as part of the Zambia Health Employment for Youth Action - ZHEYA, proudly participated in the Communication and Visibility Training facilitated by Amref Health Africa under the Africa Health Collaborative Programme from 1st to 5th June 2026.

For BMSZ, this training was more than building visibility - it was about strengthening our ability to communicate biomedical impact, amplify youth voices, and share stories that inspire confidence in laboratory medicine.

Through enhanced storytelling, strategic messaging, and innovative communication approaches, our members are now better equipped to ensure that biomedical achievements and youth-led solutions in Zambia are recognised, valued, and contribute to wider health conversations across the continent.
Do you have a story? Do not sleep on it, we are here to communicate it for you. Be on the look out for our Newsletter.

At BMSZ, we believe that when we communicate change, we accelerate action - safeguarding humanity through “Inspiring confidence in laboratory medicine.”

Strengthening Health Systems Through Youth‑Inclusive Regulatory Reform

The Biomedical Society of Zambia - BMSZ joined partners under Zambia Health Employment for Youth Action - ZHEYA, with support from Health Professions Council of Zambia - HPCZ and Amref Health Africa, to advance youth‑inclusive reforms in accreditation and licensing.

From 27th to 29th May 2026, this engagement helped map barriers, create a route to simplified guidelines and processes, and develop youth‑friendly licensing guides. This makes registration more transparent, efficient, and accessible for young biomedical scientists.

For our members, this means clearer pathways, reduced hurdles, and stronger support to thrive as part of Zambia’s health workforce transformation.

BMSZ safeguards humanity through “Inspiring confidence in laboratory medicine.”
