Today marks six months since I last saw my husband, Francisco.
I start my day without a cup of coffee from you.
I drive home without you opening the door and welcoming me.
I go for my walk or run without hearing you say, “Mum, come pa, you are slow.”
There are no morning jokes anymore. My phone is quiet—no calls from you, no crazy reels sent just to make me laugh.
I miss being called back just so you could look at me before I left for work, always saying, “You look good.”
These are the small, beautiful things. The ordinary moments that carried so much love. And now they are the moments that I thank God he granted us.
They say time heals, but time has only taught me how deeply I loved you—and how deeply I miss you. One thing I am forever thankful is that you are with your creator. We always talked about finishing faithful and you did just that.I pray the Lord accords the opportunity to finish faithfully too.
So I live one moment at a time. Because some days, that is all my heart can carry.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Still loving you. Still thanking God for you.
