AHF Zambia’s Northern Region, in collaboration with the Ndola District AIDS Task Force, conducted a workplace wellness activity at Ndola Limestone Resources aimed at bringing essential health services closer to employees.

The engagement offered free and confidential HIV testing, STI screening, condom distribution and mental health education. Three mental health sessions were also conducted to promote open conversations around emotional wellbeing, stress and the importance of seeking support when needed.

The activity formed part of AHF Northern Region Wellness Week and highlighted the importance of taking a holistic approach to health by addressing both physical and mental wellbeing.

Through partnerships such as this, AHF Zambia continues to strengthen access to prevention, screening and health education services within workplaces and communities.

Today, AHF Zambia welcomed Ms. Fungisai Evelyn Zvokuomba, Regional Security Manager – Southern Africa, during her official visit to Zambia.

Engaging with the Country Office team, Ms. Zvokuomba underscored the importance of security awareness, preparedness, timely incident reporting, and shared responsibility in creating a safe and secure working environment.

Her visit also includes engagements with AHF Zambia leadership and security assessments at the new Country Office and selected AHF-supported sites, an important step towards strengthening security systems across the programme.

When our people are safe, we are better equipped to serve our communities.

Health services are most impactful when communities know what is available, where to find it, and how to access it.

During the HCTC commemoration in Luanshya, Mr. Njongo Kapelenga, AHF Clinician from Roan Antelope Hospital, connected with community members in Bemba, breaking down the range of health services supported by AHF.

From HIV prevention services such as PrEP and VMMC, to cervical cancer screening, HIV testing, treatment and care, the community received clear, practical information on available services and where they can access them.

When health information is shared in a language people understand, it becomes more than information—it becomes empowerment!

Together, we are bringing health services closer to communities, one conversation at a time.

The Eastern Provincial Health Office, with support from CDC and cooperating partners, has concluded the Quarter 3 HIV Performance Review Meeting, held from 2–4 September 2026 in Petauke.

The final day focused on reviewing key findings, identifying gaps, and developing results-based action points to strengthen HIV programme performance across all 15 districts.

Closing the meeting on behalf of the Provincial Health Director, Dr Chimungu, Public Health Specialist at EPHO, emphasised district ownership, accountability and sustained commitment to achieving provincial HIV targets.

With AHF Zambia, UTH HAP and other partners at the table, the meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to stronger HIV services, improved programme outcomes and healthier communities.

Together, we turn data into action and action into impact. ❤️

AHF Zambia has officially joined the Copperbelt Provincial Health Office for this year's awareness Week, building momentum ahead of HTCT Day! 💙🏥

The AHF Zambia Central Region welcomed Ms. Belinda Micho, Associate Director of Human Resources – AHF Africa Bureau, on a strategic visit focused on staff welfare, leadership engagement and quality health service delivery.

The delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr. Elijah Mutoloki, Provincial Health Director - Central Province, who acknowledged AHF’s contribution to strengthening health services in the province and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with the Ministry of Health, including through the Bucket Staff Model.

The team also visited Makululu Urban Clinic and Mahatma Gandhi Clinic, engaging frontline health workers and gaining first-hand insight into AHF-supported services and the commitment of teams serving their communities.

At the AHF Central Region Office, Ms. Micho engaged staff on employee welfare, professional development, workplace engagement and organizational growth. She encouraged employees to view Human Resources as a partner throughout their professional journey and to openly share their concerns, ideas and development needs.

The visit reinforced a simple but powerful message:

📍 DAY 1 | Eastern Province HIV Performance Review Meeting – Q3 2026

AHF Zambia is in Petauke, joining the Eastern Provincial Health Office, CDC and other cooperating partners for the Quarter 3 Provincial HIV Performance Review Meeting, running from 2–4 September 2026.

Opening the meeting, Provincial Health Director, Dr. Matthews Ngambi, called for strengthened collaboration and renewed focus towards achieving the 95-95-95 targets and HIV epidemic control.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening case finding, addressing Advanced HIV Disease (AHD), and rethinking community engagement and service delivery approaches to sustain the gains made in the HIV response.

Bringing together representatives from all 15 districts of Eastern Province and cooperating partners, the meeting provides a platform to:

🔹 Review programme performance and progress
🔹 Share lessons and best practices
🔹 Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
🔹 Strengthen coordination and collaboration
🔹 Shape the next steps for stronger, more responsive HIV services across the province

AHF Zambia is represented by Dr. Chimwemwe Zulu, Regional Medical Manager, and Mr. Cephas Sempela, Regional M&E Coordinator.

AHF Zambia today welcomed Ms. Belinda Micho, Associate Director of Human Resources from the AHF Africa Bureau, as she begins her visit to the Zambia Program.

Her visit comes as as the AHF Africa Bureau supports the onboarding of Mr. Francis Mulumba, the newly appointed Talent Acquisition Manager for the AHF Africa Bureau, who will be based in Zambia.

On Day One, Ms. Micho and Mr. Mulumba were warmly received by Africa Bureau Chief, Mr. Martin Matabishi, and AHF Zambia Country Program Manager, Dr. Webster C. Chewe.

The day featured a tour of the AHF Zambia Country Office and engagements with members of the Country Office team, giving Mr. Mulumba an opportunity to connect with colleagues, understand the working environment, and gain deeper insight into AHF’s people, culture, programmes, and operations.

Beyond onboarding, the visit reflects a bigger commitment: building people, strengthening teams, and creating systems that enable our workforce across Africa to thrive.
