A Closer Look: The Critical Component
Union is strength; division is weakness. When those who believe present truth are united, they exert a telling influence. Satan well understands this. Never was he more determined than now to make of none effect the truth of God by causing bitterness and dissension among the Lords people.
If there was a time when the people of God should press together, it is now. We cannot afford now to give place to Satan by cherishing disunion, discord, and strife.
We need to realize that there's nothing selfish or narrow in the presence of Christ. It's principles are diffusive and aggressive. His presence is likened to a bright light, the saving salt and the transforming leaven. With zeal, earnestness, and devotion we're to seek to spread truth and love far and near. It is only by meekness and gentleness, forbearance and love that we can exemplify the character of Christ and the blessings of His Salvation. There is but one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one Faith. As members of the body of Christ, we all must be animated by the same Spirit and the same hope.
Divisions in the church dishonor the image of Christ before the world and give occasion for the enemy of truth to justify their course. Beloved, be informed, every advance step toward the world is a step away from God. As pride and worldly ambition are cherished among us, the spirit of Christ departs; emulation, dissension and strife all come in to distract and weaken the church. By spiritual pride, a desire to dictate, an ambitious longing for honor or position, a lack of self-control, by indulgence of passion and prejudice, by instability or lack of judgement the church is disturbed and her peace at risk.
Furthermore, there are those among us who delight to trace words of calumny and falsehood against fellow believers~ remember that God is a witness of your deeds. Your slanderous touch is not profaning soulless vessels but the characters of those whom Christ has purchased by His blood. History presents striking examples of how God is jealous and cares for His weakest of children. God dealt with the Analekites for the evil they did to weak and weary Israel when they left Egypt. If God punished the cruelty of a heathen nation, how must he regard those who, professing to be His people but they make war upon their own brethren who are worn and wearied laborers for Christ?
Let's be advocates for peace and unity among us.
Let every manifestation of animosity or unkindness be checked; let every root of bitterness be removed. When trouble arises between brethren, the Saviours rule should be strictly followed. All possible effort should be made to effect a reconciliation.
Let's all abide in Peace and live in peace with everyone.
John 17:20-21 ESV
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, ___ that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
When we abide in Him, we'll overcome the difficulties often caused by the vendors of gossip, whose whispered hints and suggestions poison unsuspecting minds and separate the closest friends. Mischief-makers workers are seconded in their evil work by the many who stand with open ears and evil heart ready to actuate evil.
This should not be tolerated among believers in Christ. May God dwell in us and help us achieve reconciliation and Peace among us.
Together we can! Yes We Can. God bless all believers.
