On Monday in Lusaka, our team joined a panel hosted by UNFPA Zambia's on advancing women’s health in . The conversation affirmed something we believe in deeply that innovation alone is not enough. In women's health, it must be anchored in dignity, equity, and outcomes that are felt in real lives.

From our experience building at Dawa Health, the evidence of what works is clear. Scale and ruthless ex*****on are what separate pilots from real impact at the frontline.

One takeaway from the panel was that the path to scale is not abstract. It runs through a health worker in an under resourced clinic using localized innovation to detect risk early, make a better decision, and refer or send a mother home safely. That is what progress looks like in practice.

As we celebrate , it’s worth recognizing that real transformation happens when innovation meets trust, and when the people closest to care are equipped to lead it.

Last week, our senior team were in Pretoria as part of the UNICEF Femtech Ventures, a global initiative bringing together startups working at the intersection of technology and women’s health.

At DawaMom, we’re building toward a future where every clinic is equipped with diagnostic infrastructure that empowers frontline health workers to detect maternal and reproductive risks early —before they become emergencies. Being in this room reinforced just how critical that mission is.

It was a powerful few days engaging with investors, researchers, policymakers, and fellow founders, exploring responsible AI, safety-by-design, and how to scale solutions that truly work for women and girls in underserved settings.

Being selected from 1,100+ applications across 85 countries is both exciting and grounding. It sharpens our focus on building data-driven, inclusive systems that strengthen maternal care from the ground up.
