SHOULDER PAIN? WHAT IF IT’S NOT A “FROZEN SHOULDER”?
Shoulder pain doesn’t automatically mean you have frozen shoulder - also known as adhesive capsulitis.
👉 In practice, many cases of shoulder pain are instead related to the tendons of the rotator cuff, particularly the supraspinatus, or to the long head of the biceps tendon.
These structures can become irritated or overloaded, causing:
* Pain when lifting the arm
* Pain with rotation
* Difficulty getting dressed or reaching overhead
* Night pain
* Loss of strength or a feeling of weakness
👐 So where does chiropractic care fit in?
Chiropractic care can play a role in the management of musculoskeletal shoulder pain, particularly by addressing shoulder and spinal mobility, the surrounding joints, and mechanical factors that may contribute to persistent symptoms.
The goal isn’t simply to “put something back into place.” It’s about optimizing movement and progressively supporting a return to normal activity.
⚠️ However, true adhesive capsulitis, a tendon tear, significant trauma, or sudden loss of strength require an appropriate medical assessment.
💡 Shoulder pain deserves a proper assessment before deciding on treatment.
Has your shoulder been painful for several weeks?
👉 Get it assessed rather than letting the pain become persistent.
