Here are all our favourite moments for the week.
1- Joy in service! Justina, a certified nurse assistant, checks Colin's vitals a few hours post-surgery for his burn contracture.
2- CURE Zambia Medical director and orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Moyo, shares a light moment with Patience as he admits her for surgery to correct her left arm.
3- Three years ago, little Peter stood in almost this same spot, here for surgery to treat a burn contracture on his arm. Today, he’s back, a little older, stronger, and in a much better place than he was then. We thank God for how far he has come in his healing journey.

We’ve had such a lovely time celebrating World Smile Day, and we couldn’t let the day end without sharing a few sweet moments from our special Friday lunch with our wonderful partners, Surgicorps International. We had good food and laughter, simply enjoying each other’s company; it was a beautiful afternoon filled with joy!

A very special THANK YOU to Smile Train for making moments like these possible. Through our partnership with Smile Train, we provide life-changing cleft surgeries to children in Zambia, helping them smile, eat, speak, and grow with greater confidence. ❤️

Happy World Smile Day from all of us at CURE Zambia! 😊
Today, we’re celebrating the smiles that remind us why we do what we do. What makes us smile? Knowing that, through the gift of healing, we get to help children smile again, whether by repairing cleft lips and palates or providing life-changing care to children with burn-related conditions and contractures.

This World Smile Day was even more special as we celebrated our World Smile Day chapel alongside our partners, Surgicorps International, who are with us, providing life-changing surgeries. From playing pickleball to sharing laughter and learning what makes each other smile, it was a beautiful reminder that joy can be found in the simplest moments.

We are grateful to God for the opportunity to serve, for our amazing partners, and most importantly, for every child whose smile reminds us that healing changes more than a life; it brings hope, confidence, and joy.
