CHILDHEALTHOURPRIORITY

We have noted an increase in Testicular Torsion which is a urological emergency in which the testicle twists and loses its blood supply. This condition is found in males aged between 12 to 25 years.

The condition usually occurs with severe pain or swelling in one testicle, especially with nausea or vomiting. It requires immediate assessment at an Emergency Department.

Early treatment can save the testicle and protect future fertility—think torsion, act fast.

Arthur Davison Children's Hospital today joined other public institutions at the Africa Public Service Day Commemoration Prayers held at Bethel Church in Ndola, which were graced by the
Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Mwanza
As part of this year's celebrations under the theme "Enhancing Public Sector Institutions and Empowering Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Achieve Universal Water Availability and Safe Sanitation by 2063," the hospital will be exhibiting at the Ndola Civic Centre tomorrow on 23rd June 2026.

ADCH Laboratory Management Review

ADCH Laboratory convened its Management Review meeting at Crossroads Hotel in Ndola on Friday, 19th June, 2026. The meeting was opened and closed by our Head of Clinical Care Dr. Muleya Inambao, who urged the key stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of the laboratory Quality Management System.

In line with ISO 15189:2022 clause 8.9, the review assessed critical inputs that drive continual improvement:
1. Results of internal and external audits - ensuring compliance and closing gaps
2. Customer feedback and satisfaction - our commitment to ≥90% satisfaction
3. EQA/PT performance - targeting ≥90% annually for analytical accuracy
4. Turnaround time and sample rejection rates - TAT >90%, Rejections
