Mandipa Hope Rehabilitation Centre proudly celebrates its Founder and Director, Caroline Mashingaidze Tapfumaneyi (Zimbabwe), for being honoured at the prestigious 2026 Community Builders in Africa Awards, held at Rainbow Towers Hotel, Harare, under the theme “Honoring the Hands That Lift Africa Higher.”

The event brought together outstanding community builders from across Africa, recognising individuals making a lasting impact in their respective countries.

Among the distinguished honourees were:

* Dr. Collen Mashawana (South Africa) – An internationally recognised philanthropist whose foundation has transformed thousands of lives through housing, education, clean water, and community development projects across Southern Africa.
* Caroline Mashingaidze Tapfumaneyi (Zimbabwe) – Founder and Director of Mandipa Hope Rehabilitation Centre.
* Jackie Ngarande (Zimbabwe).
* Tafadzwa Chidawa – Matrix (Zimbabwe).

Mandipa Hope Rehabilitation Centre has once again brought pride to Zimbabwe after its Founder and Director, Caroline Mashingaidze Tapfumaneyi, received international recognition at the African Women in Healthcare Awards 2026.

Mai Mandipa was honoured with the award for “Most Innovative Fighter Against Drug & Substance Abuse” in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards rehabilitation, mental health awareness, and addiction recovery.

The award celebrates African women making a significant impact in healthcare through leadership, innovation, and empowerment across the continent.

Through Mandipa Hope Rehabilitation Centre, Mai Mandipa continues to transform lives by offering rehabilitation and psychosocial support to individuals and families affected by drug and substance abuse.

One of the most memorable and significant moments of the evening for Mai Mandipa was the honour of co-presenting awards alongside Hon. Kiven Mutimbanyoka, the Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, who served as the Guest of Honour and official award presenter for the evening.

Among the distinguished award recipients and inspiring speakers of the evening was Dr J. Nozipo Maraire, one of Zimbabwe’s most accomplished women in medicine and literature. Dr. Maraire is internationally respected not only for her powerful storytelling and African advocacy, but also for her outstanding contribution to the field of neurology. As a neurologist, she has dedicated her career to understanding and treating disorders of the brain and nervous system, a field that demands exceptional skill, compassion, and commitment.

She captivated the audience with her wisdom, passion, and commitment to empowering African voices and advancing healthcare leadership. Her remarkable ability to combine science, medicine, culture, and storytelling has made her an inspiring role model for African women in healthcare and leadership.

The sports day held in collaboration Between Mandipa Hope and Wilkins was a truly memorable occasion filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful connection.

The day was full of fun and food, creating a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere for both staff and patients. It was more than just a sporting event, it was a powerful reminder of the importance of community in the healing journey.

Staff members from both institutions came together with patients in a spirit of unity, breaking down barriers and building relationships beyond the clinical setting. The event provided a valuable opportunity for patients to step out of their usual routines, engage in physical activity, and interact freely in a supportive environment.

For many patients, it was a chance to come out, share experiences, and feel a sense of belonging. Moments of laughter, teamwork, and encouragement highlighted the positive impact of such initiatives on mental wellness and recovery.
