ZSOG Community Engagement: Breaking the Silence on Fibroids

On 25 July 2026, the Zimbabwe Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ZSOG), in partnership with Pedigree Consultancy, hosted a successful CME and public awareness event on uterine fibroids under the theme
"Breaking the Silence on Fibroids: Empowering Women Through Awareness, Education & Care."

The event attracted 52 women, who received expert education on fibroid prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care through interactive sessions with specialist gynaecologists.

ZSOG sincerely thanks our speakers— Dr. F. Hove, Dr. A. Mapanga, Dr. C. Gwanzura, Dr. R. Majangara and Dr. Mvere —for their invaluable contributions.

Community engagement remains central to ZSOG's mission of promoting women's health through education, awareness, and improved access to evidence-based care.

🏌️‍♀️ ZSOG Charity Golf Day: Driving Hope, Supporting Mothers

The Zimbabwe Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ZSOG) is proud to share the success of our Charity Golf Day, held on 15 May 2026, in support of pregnant women in need.

Through the generosity of golfers, sponsors, and partners, we were able to provide donations to Mabvuku Polyclinic and Edith Opperman Maternity Clinicin Harare. The donated hampers, containing essential maternity items and other necessities, were distributed to expectant mothers from underprivileged backgrounds, helping to ease some of the challenges they face during pregnancy.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, partners, and doctors who generously contributed a wide range of items that made the hampers truly meaningful. Your kindness and commitment to improving maternal health have made a lasting difference in the lives of many families.

At ZSOG, we remain committed to promoting safe motherhood and improving maternal and newborn health through partnerships, community outreach, and sustainable initiatives.

Yesterday, 25th of April. we successfully hosted the GynaeOnco CME at the TelOne Centre for Learning — a powerful gathering of healthcare professionals committed to advancing women’s cancer care.

We were encouraged by the strong participation from clinicians across disciplines, reflecting a shared dedication to improving outcomes in gynae-oncology.
