Duration: Eczema is chronic or long-lasting, while hives (urticaria) are typically temporary and move or disappear within 24 hours.

Appearance: Eczema presents as dry, scaly, thickened, or weeping skin. Urticaria appears as raised, red or skin-colored itchy welts, often described as wheals.

Sensation: Both cause itching, but eczema itching is often more intense and constant. Urticaria may also cause stinging or burning.
