Leadership on the stand.

Mr L. Chapanga, Group CEO of Varichem Limited, and Mr B. Potera, Managing Director of Varichem Pharmaceuticals, joined the team at Rainbow Towers today.

At a conference about strengthening the industry, it matters that the people making the decisions are on the floor talking to the pharmacists, wholesalers and delegates who stock and dispense what we make.

Day three, and the final day at Rainbow Towers.

The team swapped into pink for Neutragel today and the stand has not been quiet since the doors opened. Pharmacists, wholesalers, regulators and students, coming through to pick up a product, ask a question, or just find out what is being made in Willowvale.

To the organisers, PSZ, PMA, PWA and CPA, thank you for putting the industry in one room. To everyone who stopped by, thank you for your time.

Varichem is exhibiting at the Zimbabwe Pharmaceutical Industry Conference 2026, alongside the wholesalers, pharmacists, regulators and manufacturers who make up this industry.

The theme is strengthening Zimbabwe's pharma ecosystem for resilience and sustainability. That is not an abstract idea to us. It is a facility in Willowvale, a local supply chain, and a team that has been manufacturing here since 1985.

A visit from the top.

Our Board Chairman, Mr Matthew Wazara, Consultant Surgeon, took time out of the conference programme to come through to the Varichem stand and engage with the team and the products.

Having a practising surgeon at the head of the board is not a formality for us. It means the people who use what we make have a voice in how we make it.

Varichem is in Bulawayo this week for the Surgical Society of Zimbabwe Annual Conference, 3 to 5 September at Cresta Churchill.

This year's theme is The Operating Room and Beyond: Shaping the Complete Surgeon. That word "beyond" matters to us. What a surgeon needs does not stop at the theatre door, and neither does what we make.

We spent August looking for heroes and we did not have to look far.

Mothers. Youth. Pharmacists. Health workers in places most people cannot find on a map. Grandmothers raising grandchildren. Caregivers who never signed up for it. Our own team, every shift.

None of them called themselves heroes. That is usually how you know.

Thank you for spending the month with us. September is coming, and there is more work to do.
