Bladder Health Matters!

Healthy bladder habits can help prevent urinary tract infections, reduce leakage, and improve overall well-being in women.
✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Don’t hold your urine for long periods
✔️ Wipe from front to back
✔️ Limit bladder irritants like excessive caffeine & alcohol
✔️ Strengthen your pelvic floor with Kegel exercises

Listen to your body and talk to your healthcare provider if you experience pain, urgency, leakage, or frequent urinary tract infections.

Did you know these important facts about high blood pressure (hypertension)?

🔴 High blood pressure often has no warning signs or symptoms. You may feel completely fine, which is why regular screening is so important.

🟠 Uncontrolled hypertension can silently damage your arteries, heart, kidneys, and other organs over time. Early detection helps prevent serious complications before permanent damage occurs.

🟢 The good news? High blood pressure is highly manageable. Healthy lifestyle changes, such as balanced nutrition, regular exercise, stress management, and maintaining a healthy weight can make a big difference. Some people may also require medication prescribed by their healthcare provider.

Know your numbers. Early detection saves lives. 🫀

This month, we’re celebrating women’s health, honoring the physical, mental, emotional & reproductive wellbeing of women at every stage of life. 🌸

Women’s health is more than routine checkups. It includes preventive care, maternal health, mental wellness, hormone health, nutrition, chronic illness prevention, and access to education and support that helps women thrive.

When women are healthy, families and communities are stronger.

Why might a C-section be needed?
Here are some common medical reasons:

• Prolonged (stalled) labor – when labor isn’t progressing safely
• Baby’s position – breech (feet/butt first) or sideways
• Fetal distress – baby isn’t getting enough oxygen
• Large baby or small pelvis (CPD) – baby can’t pass safely
• Placenta complications – like placenta previa or abruption
• Cord prolapse – umbilical cord comes out before baby
• Multiple pregnancy – twins or more may need surgical delivery
• Previous C-section – sometimes repeat surgery is safer
• Maternal health conditions – e.g., heart disease, high blood pressure, infections (HIV, herpes)
• Certain birth defects – to reduce delivery risks

Every C-section is done with the goal of a safe delivery for both mother and baby.

The idea that a C-section is the “easy way out” is one of the biggest misconceptions about childbirth.

In reality, a cesarean section is a MAJOR abdominal surgery often done in urgent or complex situations to keep mom and baby safe. There’s nothing “easy” about an operating room, surgical recovery, or healing while caring for a newborn.

It’s not about taking shortcuts. It’s about making the safest choice in that moment. Every birth journey looks different, and none is more “valid” than another. Let’s respect them all. 🤍
