Why do some people develop varicose veins while others don’t?

Several factors may increase the likelihood of developing vein problems, including family history, previous pregnancies, excess weight, smoking, limited physical activity, prolonged sitting or standing, leg trauma, and a previous deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
