Get to know Renee a little better 🌼

Tell us about your journey with TLC
I started teaching in this space before it became The Loft. At the time, I was working as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor, looking for somewhere to teach my own classes.
When COVID hit, our little community kept showing up for outdoor and online classes. Later, I was offered the opportunity to take on the space permanently, and that’s how The Loft was born.
As my own practice has evolved over the years, so has the studio. Today we’re an incredible team of ten offering more than thirty classes each week, and I’m endlessly grateful for the community we’ve built together.
(Scroll through for a little trip down memory lane and some photos from the early days)

What has becoming an instructor taught you?
Teaching has helped me discover my purpose. It has shown me that my way of serving the world is by helping people come home to themselves. I believe we’re here to live deeply, love well, care for one another, and move through life with more presence, compassion and connection. If my classes can help people experience even a little more of that, then I feel like I’ve done what I came here to do.

What are you learning about at the moment?
My bookshelves are usually filled with psychology, philosophy and yoga, but right now I’m having so much fun learning Indonesian before my next trip.

If you had a slow morning to yourself, how would you spend it?
Tea and a book in bed with my phone off, then movement and sunshine and a moment to practice gratitude, self-love and remind myself why I’m here.

What’s something people might not know about you?
I’m a black belt in Taekwondo 🥋

Meet the TLC team: Megan Simmons

Megan’s yoga journey began after completing her Degree in Dance in London in 2015. While studying Bharatanatyam, she fell in love with storytelling through movement and the deep connection between breath and body. This inspired her to explore yoga as a way of living—both on and off the mat.

Motherhood in 2020 deepened her understanding of movement, revealing its healing power and the innate wisdom we all have to move and express naturally.

Today, Megan’s teaching invites others to reconnect with their breath, body, and natural rhythm. Megan completed her Yoga Teacher Training in 2022 and remains devoted to a consistent, evolving personal practice.

With a therapeutic approach, she honours each individual’s unique path. Her classes focus on personal exploration, guiding students to connect more deeply with their breath, body, mind, and spirit.

Megan believes the practice on the mat reflects how we move through life. As a neurodiversity-affirming teacher, she encourages self-acceptance and compassion, supporting students to meet themselves exactly as they are.

This commitment to inclusion is rooted in her dedication to anti-racism and social justice; by actively working to dismantle systemic barriers, Megan strives to ensure wellness is accessible, equitable, and transformative for everyone.

Join Megan on Fridays at 6pm for Space to Ground and Sundays at 9am for Connect- book in Momence.

YOGA FOUNDATIONS: a beginners workshop.

This workshop is the perfect space for you to find your alignment.

Do you ever feel like yoga classes move a little too quickly?

If you’ve ever questioned “am I doing it right?” Or wondered where to put your feet in warrior one, this workshop is for you.

On Thursday, 30th of July at 7pm, we’re slowing everything down.

Together, we’ll explore the foundational postures (asana) of a yoga practice, including Sun Salutations and the postures you see in class most often.

We’ll take time to understand alignment, why we move the way we do, what each posture is trying to achieve, and how it should feel in your body.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, try things more than once, and build confidence before stepping back into a regular class.

Perfect for anyone who is new to yoga, returning after time away, or simply wanting a stronger understanding of the fundamentals.

Replacing Recover for one week only. Limited spots available- book in Momence or link in bio.

Big love, TLC

🤎Our community says it best:

A space to slow down.
To feel supported.
To come back to yourself.
To be welcomed, exactly as you are.

These are real words from people who’ve walked through our doors - and we’re so grateful for every one of them.

If you’ve been curious, nervous, or quietly waiting, we’re here when you’re ready.

HUGE LOVE, TLC team x
