This week’s Sunday Edit is brought to you by the brilliant Susan Sontag; artist, writer, filmmaker, play-write and cultural critic.
Susan authored a number of culturally significant texts, including Illness as a Metaphor, Against Interpretation, and Notes on Camp, an essay which introduced the aesthetic concept of ‘camp’ to the world.
Sontag also dedicated much of her life to human rights activism. She led a number of campaigns advocating for freedom of expression on behalf of persecuted and imprisoned writers.
She died in November 2004, leaving behind a great legacy of thought-provoking words and works.
