Just arrived back home after a few days exploring Canberra (Derek had a dinner to attend). We certainly made the most of our time starting with the National Botanic Gardens on our first day.
We absolutely loved spending most of the day at the National Aquarium and Zoo and got to meet some beautiful giraffes and help feed them. We were so impressed with the surroundings, it was amazing.
There was so much to do at the Arboretum, we loved the bonsai exhibition, the lookout, and my highlight was being in the Himalayan Cedar forest. We even had two dragonflies come right up to us. So magical.
The walk-in aviary was another incredible experience feeding the birds and enjoying them sitting on us to get the food and just sitting and listening to their birdsong was so relaxing.
We also did a quick trip 25 mins out of town yesterday to enjoy sitting next to the Murrambidgee River.
The only part we probably didn’t enjoy so much was the fire alarm going off at the hotel and having to evacuate from the 7th floor.
The food was delicious and we loved that most things were only 15 minutes to get anywhere. We didn’t go into the city to explore so will have to go back another time.
