Connected Self

Connected Self First and foremost Connected Self is about you. We work with individuals, families, and organisations to assist in achieving wellbeing goals.

We do this by recruiting qualified, talented, inspirational and committed people and supporting them to work with you to identify the outcomes that you want to achieve. Our people then utilise evidence-based and innovative approaches to help you achieve these outcomes in a sustainable way. As our name suggests we are about making connections. We believe that by supporting people and organisations

to create connections to themselves (who they are), their family, community and customers, their environment, and aspirations they can achieve higher levels of wellbeing, personal fulfilment, and productivity. Our unique blend of experienced psychologists, mental health social workers, counsellors, art therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, youth practitioners, and consultants assist many individuals and organisations to achieve their goals. We are National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) accredited provider and a member on the Disability Services and Department for Education and Department for Child Protection Panel of Preferred Providers.

Connected Self acknowledges Mabo Day.

June 3rd, 1992, remains one of the most significant dates in Australian history.

After more than a decade of advocacy led by Eddie Koiki Mabo and the Meriam people of Mer, the High Court of Australia delivered the landmark Mabo Decision that transformed the nation’s legal and moral landscape. In overturning the colonial doctrine of Terra Nullius, the Court formally recognised that First Nations Peoples hold enduring connections and responsibilities to lands and waters.

The Mabo decision compelled Australia to confront truths, such as this continent was never empty. Australia’s history did not begin with British settlement.

Check out Connected Self’s lovely Managing Director, Cath, announcing our new NDIS Youth Employment Services (YES!) program.

Connected Self have spent the past two years directly supporting young people to achieve their SACE and employment goals. We have put this experience and knowledge into our new YES! program.

The YES! program is focused on supporting the development of key skills needed to gain and maintain employment, alongside of wellbeing, because we know you need both to succeed.

Today marks the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum where Australians voted to remove clauses from the constitution which discriminated against First Nations peoples.

It also marks the start of National Reconciliation Week. This year's theme is "All In", a unifying call for all Australians to commit to reconciliation wholeheartedly every single day, recognising that advancing First Nations' rights is a shared responsibility.

Today, Connected Self acknowledges National Sorry Day.

A day to acknowledge the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations, and to reflect on the lasting impact of past government policies that caused, and continue to cause, profound grief, loss, and trauma to First Nations people and communities.

National Sorry Day is an important opportunity for all Australians to listen, learn, and continue the journey of truth telling, healing, and reconciliation. Sorry day is not about guilt. It is about witnessing, refusing to look away, holding ourselves truly accountable, and asking, how do we go From Sorry to Action? Its time for governments to take urgent steps to create tangible and measurable change within survivors’ lifetimes.

The Kimberley Native Violet is the official symbol of National Sorry Day, representing the resilience and survival of the Stolen Generations.
