Today is Wear It Purple Day. A day to celebrate LGBTQIA+SB young people and show them that they are seen, valued, supported and celebrated.

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that courage can look different for everyone.

It might be:
🌈 Being yourself
💜 Asking for support
🫶 Standing beside a mate
📣 Speaking up when something isn’t okay
✨ Finding people who make you feel like you belong
💭 Taking the time to figure out who you are and what feels right for you

At headspace Albany, we know that feeling safe, accepted and connected can make a huge difference to young people’s wellbeing.

Whether you're a young person, friend, family member, ally or community member — you can help create spaces where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

R U OK? Day is a reminder that a simple conversation can make a real difference. Sometimes, asking “Are you OK?” and taking the time to really listen can be the start of something important 🫶

Thursday 10th September, local community organisations and partners are coming together in Albany for a morning of coffee, cake and connection — and headspace Albany will be there to support the day with so many other amazing community services.

🤝 Community Connections

This week we're shining a light on Headspace Albany.

Headspace supports young people aged 12–25 by providing access to mental health support, physical and sexual health services, alcohol and other drug support, as well as assistance with work and study.

Knowing where to find support is an important part of building healthy and connected communities.

If you or someone you know could benefit from their services, we encourage you to reach out and learn more about the support available.
