📢 Heads up! 📢

On Monday 25th May and Tuesday 26th May, our team will be attending staff training.

headspace Albany will still be open from 9am–5pm on both days, though we will be closing at 5pm on Tuesday (no late night on Tuesday!). Our admin team will be available to answer calls, take messages and assist where they can, while our Doctor and Work & Study team will continue as usual.

Please note that appointments and walk-in support will not be available during this time.

We will reopen as usual on Wednesday 27 May.

We’re mixing things up with something a little different this month 👇

📍 Beginner Jiu Jitsu

No experience needed — this is a beginner-friendly session, so just come along and give it a go.

Common Ground is a relaxed monthly space for young men aged 16–25 to hang out, try something new and connect. No pressure — get involved as much or as little as you like.

Youth Week 2026 = DONE & DUSTED 🎉

We had the best time celebrating young people across Albany and Denmark last week — two epic days full of connection, creativity, and good vibes 💛

From colour runs and chaos (the fun kind) to chill zones, music, and meaningful chats — it was so good to see young people showing up, being themselves, and sharing their stories. That’s what it’s all about.

A big shoutout to everyone who stopped by, had a yarn, got involved in our activities, or just came to say hey 👋

Youth Week’s theme this year was “Strength in Our Stories” — and wow, did our community show that in action.

Already keen for next year tbh 👀

✨ Youth Week WA 2026 ✨

From 10–16 April, we celebrate Youth Week WA — a time dedicated to recognising, uplifting and empowering young people across our communities 💚

Youth Week is all about creating space for young people to be heard, share their stories, and have a say in the world around them. Because when young people feel seen and valued, it strengthens not just individuals — but our whole community.

At headspace Albany, this is something we’re passionate about every day.

We work alongside young people by:
💚 Listening — creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can share their experiences
💚 Amplifying youth voice — through our youth reference group, headspace Advisory Committee, where young people help shape what we do
💚 Valuing lived experience — including paying young people for their time and contributions when they share their stories and support our events
💚 Supporting wellbeing — providing free, youth-friendly mental health support

We believe young people are the experts in their own lives — and their stories matter.

🎉 We’re proud to be supporting the City of Albany at their Youth Week event this Saturday 11 April. Come down, connect, and celebrate the incredible young people in our community.
