We are excited to welcome Dr Cristina Vizgarra to our practice!

Originally from Argentina, Cristina moved to Albany 12 years ago after marrying her husband, who was born and raised in the region. She quickly fell in love with Albany's stunning natural beauty, welcoming community, and relaxed lifestyle. Over the past decade, Cristina has divided her time between Albany and Perth, but it was Albany's unique charm that ultimately drew her back, making it the perfect place to continue her career as a General Practitioner.

Cristina completed her medical degree in Argentina before undertaking specialist training in Internal Medicine overseas. Her extensive experience enables her to provide comprehensive, patient-centred care, taking a holistic approach to managing both acute and chronic health conditions while recognising the important role of family and support networks in achieving positive health outcomes.

Having grown up in a multicultural household, Cristina speaks multiple languages (Spanish and Italian) and values the opportunity to care for people from diverse cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and delivering compassionate, personalised care to individuals and families within the Albany community.

Today, our team will be taking part in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea ☕💛

As a GP practice, we see firsthand how cancer impacts individuals, families and our wider community. With almost 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, supporting cancer research and support services is something that touches all of us.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is one of the country’s largest community fundraising events, helping Cancer Council fund vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services for Australians affected by cancer.

While we are not hosting a public event at, our team is proud to be participating in this important community initiative and showing our support for those impacted by cancer.

We encourage everyone to get involved in their own way — whether it’s hosting a morning tea, making a donation, or simply helping raise awareness.

May is World Pre-eclampsia Awareness Month🤰

Pre-eclampsia is a serious condition characterised by high blood pressure during pregnancy and can have significant consequences for both mother and baby. Worldwide, complications of pre-eclampsia impact many families each year, contributing to the deaths of an estimated 75,000 women and 500,000 babies.

At SRMG, our obstetric doctors screen all women at their first antenatal visit to assess their individual risk of developing pre-eclampsia. At every subsequent appointment, your obstetric GP carefully monitors both you and your baby for signs of high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, and fetal growth restriction.

If you are pregnant, we encourage you to speak with your obstetric GP about pre-eclampsia at your next appointment. Early detection and ongoing monitoring are important for a healthy pregnancy. 💕👶

RSV Vaccine Clinics Available Now🤧

Our practice is now offering RSV vaccination clinics for eligible patients.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is a highly contagious virus that affects the airways and lungs. While it often causes mild cold-like symptoms, it can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia and breathing difficulties in older adults.

The RSV vaccine is FREE for patients aged 75 years and over.

Infants born between 1 October 2025 and 31 March 2026 are also eligible for RSV immunisation and should make an appointment outside of clinic times.
