WHY DO SOME PATIENTS HAVE A WIRE BEHIND THEIR TEETH? 🦷

✨ Meet the Bonded Retainer!

Have you ever noticed a small wire attached behind someone's front teeth after braces?

Here's why!

🦷 1. WHAT IS A BONDED RETAINER?
A bonded retainer is a thin wire attached to the back of the teeth, usually the front teeth, to help keep them in their new positions after orthodontic treatment.

✨ 2. WHY IS IT NEEDED?
Teeth can naturally shift over time, even after braces are removed. A bonded retainer helps maintain the alignment achieved during treatment.

💙 3. CAN PEOPLE SEE IT?
Not usually! Because the wire sits behind the teeth, it is discreet and generally not visible when you smile.

😁 4. DO YOU STILL NEED TO LOOK AFTER YOUR TEETH?
Absolutely! Good oral hygiene is essential. Carefully clean around the wire and attend regular dental check-ups.

🪥 5. DOES IT LAST FOREVER?
Bonded retainers can last for many years, but they may become loose or break. Regular checks help identify any problems early.

💙 REMEMBER:
Your braces journey may be finished, but maintaining your smile is an ongoing commitment!
