If you’re a woman in your 40s, there’s a good chance you’ve Googled:
“Is ______ a symptom of perimenopause?” 😬
And honestly… the answer is often YES.
Fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, poor sleep, changes in libido, hair loss, weight and mood changes can all show up during the perimenopausal years.
But that doesn’t automatically mean hormones are responsible for everything you’re experiencing.
Many of these symptoms overlap with things like iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, blood sugar dysregulation, nutrient deficiencies, poor sleep, chronic stress, medication effects and simply not eating enough to meet your body’s needs.
And sometimes there’s more than one thing going on.
That’s why I’m much more interested in asking:
How are you sleeping?
What does your diet actually look like?
What’s happening with stress?
What do your blood tests show?
Perimenopause may absolutely be part of the picture.
I just don’t want to blame your ovaries for everything because you turned 40. 🤦🏻♀️
Your symptoms are clues.
The goal is to work out what they’re pointing to.
