📣 IMPORTANT UPDATE – Changes to Calacare Office Operating Hours📣

To better support our team and streamline our office operations, Calacare will be updating our office operating hours.

Our new office operating hours will be:

Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed

Please note that these changes apply to our office administration hours only and will not impact scheduled support services.

We had a lovely afternoon in the office yesterday! 💚

To mark Mental Health Awareness Month, we invited our staff and any participants they were on shift with, in for a catch up, some snacks and a bit of fun!

We had a paper aeroplane competition to see who could come up with the best design and whose would fly the furthest (some were definitely more successful than others)...

We also had a range of Would You Rather questions, positive affirmations and a few little surprises around the office!

It was great to see everyone, have a laugh and spend some time together outside of the usual day to day routine.

October is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

A little reminder to check in on yourself and the people around you. Life gets busy, and sometimes it's easy to forget that everyone has their own things going on behind the scenes.

You don't always need the right words or to know how to fix things. Sometimes a chat, a laugh, a cuppa, or simply listening can make all the difference.

Be kind to yourself, look out for each other and remember that it's okay to have days where you're not feeling 100%.

A little kindness goes along way! ❤️‍🩹

A Day Full of Connection 💫

We love attending local events to showcase who we are and what we do!

But for us, where we find the most value is sitting with the people and listening to their journeys, their lived experience and what they are really looking for in a provider.

We met some incredible people who showed courage and vulnerability in sharing their journey and for that we are immensely grateful.

Equally just as grateful to connect with so many amazing providers within the Ballarat region, holding so many meaningful conversations on how together we can build a stronger and more connected community.

Thank you to the Ballarat community for showing up in numbers and giving us the opportunity to share our story and explore how we could be a great provider to meet their needs.

We have previously teased some of Greig story. Today, we’re proud to share the full documentary, curated with Greig himself.

A husband, dad, former police officer and a man with plenty of stories to tell. Through Greig’s own words and those of some of the people closest to him, this film shares his life, the memories they’ve made and their experience of Huntington’s disease.

Thank you to Greig, Bianca and his family for letting us be part of telling his story. It’s been a privilege to put this together with Greig, and we hope you’ll take some time to watch and get to know Greig as we have.

🚨BALLARAT WE'RE BACK🚨

Catch the Calacare team at the The Disability Events Community - The DEC Ballarat Expo next Wednesday. We’re pumped to be out in the community again, having real conversations, building connections and hearing directly from the people we support.

Events like this are a great chance for us to showcase who we are, share the outcomes we’ve achieved locally and continue strengthening partnerships across the region.

In the iconic township of Clunes, known for its appearance in Mad Max, Chris and support worker Toby enjoyed a sunny Sunday morning wandering among classic cars with coffees in hand at the Clunes Cars and Coffee meet. Their shared passion for old‑school vehicles made it the perfect match.

Another great news story for one of our participants!!

Only four games played and Tim finished 15th in the best and fairest! 👏

Tim and his support worker headed to the Reclink Presentation Lunch at the lake to celebrate the season. He was absolutely rapt with the result and is already looking forward to next year.

Well done to Tim and his team (some faces have been covered to respect others’ privacy!)

Two bedrooms available in our Delacombe SIL home 🏠

This beautiful new build is spacious and clean, with a lovely outdoor area. Both available bedrooms have their own ensuite. Two women are currently residing in the home, looking for a housemate who also has a great sense of humour!
