Who is the ETAA?💚

The Equine Therapy Association Australia (ETAA) is an organisation dedicated to supporting, connecting and representing professionals working within the equine therapy industry.

But why is that important?

As the equine therapy industry continues to grow, having an association that promotes education, professional development, ethical practice and industry standards helps create a stronger and more informed industry.

The ETAA provides a platform for practitioners to connect, learn and continue developing their knowledge — ultimately helping to promote better outcomes for both horses and their owners.

It’s about creating a more educated, professional and connected equine therapy industry in Australia🇦🇺

Meet Maverick 🐎

Maverick’s story is one that deserves to be shared.🩵

I’ve been working with him for over 12 months, and if I could show you his very first session compared to where he is today, you probably wouldn’t believe it.

In those early sessions, Maverick would try to kick, bite, turn away and walk off. We often couldn’t get past his neck and shoulders before he became too overwhelmed to continue.

Fast forward 12 months… and look at him now. 🥹
Three consecutive sessions of full-body work.
Yawning. Licking. Chewing. Relaxing.

And now… stretching. 🐎✨

The change hasn’t happened overnight. It’s been built through patience, consistency and allowing Maverick to feel safe and comfortable throughout the process.

His owner and I couldn’t be more proud of him.🩵

This is why we keep showing up. The progress might not always be obvious session to session, but one day you look back and realise just how far they’ve come.💪🏻

Here we go! The Clyde Team is off to the NSW Regional Business Awards!🩵

It honestly feels surreal. When I started Clyde’s Equine Bodywork, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today. These awards aren’t just recognition for a business—they’re proof that with passion, hard work and determination, you really can achieve whatever you set your mind to.

A massive thank you to my family. You’ve been there through the late nights, the tears, the milestones, the crazy ideas and every challenge in between. I couldn’t have done this without you.

To my incredible clients, thank you. You are the reason Clyde’s Equine Bodywork exists. This recognition belongs to all of us—to every owner who has chosen to invest in their horse’s wellbeing, to those who continue to learn, ask questions and strive to better understand their horses. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your horse’s journey.

Thank you to my amazing community for supporting this little dream from the very beginning.

No matter what happens, I already feel like I’ve won. 🫶🏻

I don’t know where I start! A massive thank you to Equine Therapies Association of Australia Inc for holding the awards and all the judges for taking the time to go through all the nominations!🩵

I am so grateful and honoured to have been named Equine Therapist of The Year for ACT!🏆

They say you never work a day in your life if you are doing what you love. This is more than true, this job is more than a business. It is my passion, I have to remind myself how lucky I am to be able to go to work and forget that I am “working”.

Thank you to all my clients, 4-legged and 2, for sticking by me and supporting Clyde’s Equine Bodywork. Without you I wouldn’t be here!

On Friday we will be announcing the recipients of the first of our ETAA Annual Awards. This has been an extremely exciting time for the Equine Therapies Association of Australia and its members. We love nothing more than to see amazing equine therapists be recognised for their outstanding work, but even better is to see a community of professionals get around each other and celebrate each other's success. While we can only award one person from each category, every single one of the award finalists deserve to be congratulated!

Did you know your horse’s muscles only do what the nervous system tells them to do?

The nervous system is the body’s communication network, constantly sending and receiving signals that control movement, muscle tone, posture and protective responses.

When your horse experiences pain, injury or stress, the nervous system responds by increasing muscle tension to help protect the body. While this is an important part of healing, those protective patterns can sometimes remain long after the original issue has improved. This may influence comfort, movement and performance.

This is why I use Medkey as part of my treatments.

Medkey delivers gentle bioadaptive impulses that communicate with the nervous system, supporting its natural ability to regulate muscle tone and movement. Rather than simply focusing on the muscles, it works with the body’s own communication system to encourage more efficient movement and overall wellbeing.

As with any therapy, Medkey is most effective when used as part of a holistic approach alongside hands-on bodywork, appropriate training, management and veterinary care where required.
