đź’» Spend hours seated at a computer for work, gaming or study?

Long periods of sitting and inactivity can increase your risk of back pain - often linked to poor posture, incorrect ergonomics and repetitive strain. Over time, this can contribute to musculoskeletal issues and, if left unmanaged can lead to chronic spinal health conditions.

Common signs to watch for:
⚠️ Headaches
⚠️ Neck, shoulder and upper back pain
⚠️ Postural changes over time

Back pain doesn’t just affect the body - it can also impact mental wellbeing, contributing to stress and fatigue.

Adjust your thinking. Prevention starts with simple habits:
âś… Sit upright and stay relaxed
âś… Take regular movement and stretching breaks
âś… Set your screen at eye level
âś… Use a supportive, ergonomic chair
âś… Mix sitting with standing where possible

What type of back pain are you experiencing?

Back pain isn’t one-size-fits-all. Understanding the type of pain you have is the first step toward managing it.

🤔 Non-specific low back pain
Around 8 in 10 cases fall into this category, where there’s no single identifiable cause. Often linked to muscles, joints or everyday strain.

⚡ Acute back pain
Short-term pain that can come on suddenly, often from lifting, movement or minor injury.

⏳ Chronic back pain
Pain that persists for 12 weeks or more, sometimes continuing even after the initial cause has resolved.

➡️ Referred or radiating pain
Pain that travels, such as down the leg, often linked to nerve involvement.

🧠 Back pain doesn’t just affect the body - it can also impact mental wellbeing, contributing to stress, fatigue and reduced quality of life.

Understanding your pain is the first step to getting back to feeling good.

Winter is here, and not everyone has the warmth they need.

We’re proud to be running our “Jackets for June” Coat Collection Drive in the clinic. From now until 8th June, we’re collecting gently used jackets, coats, and cardigans for those doing it tough this season.

If you have something to spare, please bring it along to your next visit.

Together, we can support our community—one jacket at a time.

From a chiropractic perspective, the goal isn’t just to “exercise more,” but to move well and build consistency over time.

If you’re not sure where to begin:
• Start with simple, low-load movements
• Focus on posture and control
• Gradually build intensity as your body adapts

Chiropractic care can help by:
✔️ Improving joint mobility
✔️ Supporting optimal spinal function
✔️ Reducing discomfort that may be limiting movement
✔️ Guiding safe, progressive exercise habits

Momentum is built through consistency—not intensity.

When your body moves better, it becomes easier to keep showing up.

Small steps. Better movement. Long-term results.

Progress isn’t about doing it all.
It’s about showing up, again and again.

Fitness Comes in Many Forms

Fitness doesn’t have to mean hours in the gym 🏋️‍♀️

It can look like:
✨ A walk along the coast or walking the dog
✨ Stretching before bed or when you wake up
✨ Strength training using weights or old milk containers of rice
✨ Pilates or yoga. Try an online App and do it at home
✨ Playing with your kids is always fun but easy!

The “best” form of fitness?
👉 The one you enjoy
👉 The one you’ll stick to
👉 The one that supports your body—not punishes it

Movement is medicine. And every little bit counts.

Start where you are, use what you have, and build from there đź’›

Sleep is one of the most powerful things we can do for our health, yet it’s often the first thing we sacrifice.

Research from Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker shows that quality sleep supports:

🧠 brain health
🦴 tissue repair
⚡ pain tolerance
🌿 nervous system regulation

As chiropractors we see how strongly sleep, stress and pain are connected.

If you’re struggling with sleep, pain or recovery, it’s worth looking at how your body and nervous system are functioning overall.

Prioritising sleep can make a huge difference.
