YOUR HORSE IS STILL A HORSE šš“
Iāve been thinking about this a lot lately and allowing my mind to do a deep pondering.
How easily do we fall into the trap of thinking our horses need to become more?
The young horse needs more educating.
The nervous horse needs confidence.
The green horse needs more work.
The dressage horse needs more collection.
The competition horse needs better scores.
And somehow, we start believing that the horse who can do more is a better horse and worth more.
But are they?
Just bear with me in this, they are still the same horse.
The same horse who has learnt the skill of jumping
The same horse who has learnt the skill of dressage
The same horse who has the skill of doing endurance.
He hasnāt become a better horse.
He is still the āsame horseā who has simply learned a skill.
He has learnt skills.
His body has become stronger
He has more capacity
He has learned technique
But underneath all of thatā¦
HE is still the SAME horse.
And I think we could learn something from that. Because we do this to ourselves too.
We think we need to become more successful.
More confident.
More healed.
More spiritual.
More productive.
More accomplished.
Moreā¦
Moreā¦
Moreā¦
As though one day, if we just improve ourselves enough, weāll finally become worthy.
But what if we already are?
What if learning something new doesnāt make you more worthy?
What if becoming successful doesnāt make you more valuable?more worthy?
What if healing doesnāt turn you into a better human being⦠but simply allows you to live more freely as the human you already are?
You are still the most amazing human you always were, just with a skill
Whether it be playing a violin
Whether it be writing poetry
Whether it be learning dressage
Your horse doesnāt become more valuable because he wins a ribbon.
He doesnāt become more lovable because he gets a flying change right.
He doesnāt become more worthy because he stops spooking.
Heās worthy before he ever does a thing. And I will say it again, he is still the same horse of worth, just with a skill set.
And so are you (- not a horse but a person š„“)
Grow
Learn
Stretch yourself.
Become deliciously brilliant at something that lights you up.
But donāt do it because you think you need to become someone worthy of loving.
Do it because
youāre curious.
It feels good.
it makes you come wonderfully Alive on the inside .
Do it because there is still so much of life existing waiting to be explored.
Your horse is valuable because he simply exists and so are you.
