Presence with all that is
The past few weeks have been challenging, I've experienced incredible highs and devastating lows. Extraordinary achievements have existed alongside profound pain.
Throughout it all, I have had to deepen my capacity to hold both realities, the duality of life. The Truth of what Is
When we become so consumed by what is painful, we can lose sight of everything that is good, this is where suffering can set in.
And yet, we can also become so attached to what feels good that we turn away from anything painful, uncomfortable or asking for our attention, love and care.
A favour for either can disconnect us from the full truth of our selves, eachother and our lives.
Being present means remaining connected to all that is, to what is working and what is not, what is beautiful and what hurts, what we have have and what we've lost.
So much of who I am today, what I have created and the people I have beside me are what I once longed for.
That does not erase how challenging life can be.
The gold is not found in the absence of pain and challenge. It is found in our willingness to hold it all, to honour what hurts while still recognising all that is good.
Presence is the willingness to see ourselves and our lives clearly, without denying one reality in favour of another.
To remain connected to ourselves and eachother through it all.
To see. To feel. To hear. To understand
That is what it means to love.
