Hattie (SLP) and Michaela (OT) tested out an obstacle course before a session the other day - because how could they not?! Safe to say it's harder than it looks, and the kids make it look WAY too easy!
Every section of this course has been designed to target the sensory and motor systems your child needs for learning, self-regulation, and everyday life. This is what OT looks like when it's disguised as fun!
🐛 1. Lycra Tunnel Crawl Deep pressure provides proprioceptive and tactile input to regulate the nervous system, while building bilateral coordination and core strength.
🏀 2. Hopper Ball to Swing Bouncing delivers vestibular and proprioceptive input to wake up the brain and body, while developing motor planning skills.
🪜 3. Ladder Climb Builds upper and lower body strength, bilateral coordination, motor sequencing, and spatial awareness.
🐒 4. Monkey Bars in Lycra Swing Combines vestibular challenge with upper body strength, grip, core stability, and bilateral coordination - all with calming proprioceptive input.
⭕ 5. Hoop Jumps to Finish Targets motor planning, sequencing, and visual-motor integration as children coordinate their bodies to land accurately in each hoop.
