I was a kinesiologist for years before I became a nutritionist ✨

What I loved about kinesiology was being able to access the subconscious mind and understand what was actually going on underneath the surface. Directly bypassing the conscious brain and tapping into the innate intelligence of the body 💫

Seeing how something that happened years ago could still be affecting someone now, or how stress, emotions and old patterns could be driving gut issues, hormonal symptoms, anxiety or chronic pain.

I just found it fascinating 😍

Then I became a nutritionist and started seeing it from the other side too. Because sometimes there IS something physical going on.

You might be iron deficient. Your blood sugar might be all over the place. Your hormones might be imbalanced due to impaired methylation etc. Your gut microbiome might need support. And this can all affect your mood, energy, anxiety and how well you cope with stress.

So the more women I worked with, the more I was wondering why the heck am I separating the two? 🤦‍♀️

What we go through can affect us physically. And what’s happening physically can affect how we feel emotionally.

This is why I’ve created the Mind Body Reset.

For women who want to look at both 👏

Who know deep down that the physical and emotional go hand in hand, and are tired of looking at one side while completely ignoring the other.

Because avoiding one or the other is what keeps you stuck in the same cycle. So I am looking at the whole person, rather than treating the physical and emotional as two completely separate things.

After 15 years of working with women this way of working is what really lights me up 🫶

Have you ever had a reaction to something and thought why am I reacting THIS strongly? 😅

Sometimes the way we react to something happening now has been shaped by what we’ve experienced in the past.

Fearful, stressful or traumatic experiences can shape the way our brain and nervous system learn to predict and respond to threat.

So when something in the present feels similar to a past experience, our body can respond as though that old threat is happening all over again.

A racing heart and tight chest, the jaw clenching, the gut symptoms or that familiar automatic reaction to self protect, shut down, run, people please or completely lose it.

Your conscious mind might know you’re okay.

But your body/subconscious mind can still be responding to an old pattern.

This is one of the things I love exploring through kinesiology. To discover what your body is responding to, where the pattern began, and how can we support it to respond differently now x

If you’ve been Googling ‘what are the best supplements for my nervous system or anxiety?’ 🫠 You’re probably waaayy more confused than when you started. 🤪

One person says magnesium. Another swears by zinc. Someone else says GABA or ashwagandha changed their life.

The thing is ladies every BODY is different. What works for one person may not work for you.

The nutrients and natural compounds in this reel support a healthy nervous system, which is why they can also be helpful for people experiencing anxiety. 💛

But although I use a lot of these nutrients in clinic, what I really want to know is… why are you anxious?

Are you running on four hours of sleep?
Are you low in key nutrients?
Is your blood sugar all over the place?
Are you stuck in perfectionism, constantly overthinking, putting everyone else first and never slowing down?

Getting to the root of why you’re feeling anxious is what lights me up ✨ and I can tell you now it’s often not just one thing.

These nutrients can be incredibly supportive, but they’re only one piece of the puzzle. 💕

Every second person I speak to is convinced they have “high cortisol.” 😅

And you know what, they might! But they also might have low cortisol, a disrupted cortisol rhythm, or something else going on completely.

Yes, if you’re waking at 3am, feeling exhausted, carrying weight around your middle, anxiety, feeling wired but tired… CAN all point towards cortisol.

But they don’t tell us what your cortisol is actually doing. This is where comprehensive testing comes in 🫶

A blood test gives us a snapshot of one moment in time. Whereas a saliva cortisol awakening response test assesses your diurnal cortisol rhythm - testing cortisol at multiple points of the day, which provides us a lot more information to help you 👏

I’m not interested in guessing or throwing supplements at symptoms. I would much rather know what your body is actually telling me, then build a plan from there!

Because at the end of the day, effective treatment starts with good information ☺️

Been feeling stressed and your gut isn’t happy?

Stewed apples are one of our fave recipes we come back to again and again, especially when a client is trying to increase their fibre intake or their gut has been feeling a little more sensitive than usual.

Cooking the apples softens them, making them gentler on digestion, while still providing pectin, a type of soluble fibre that helps nourish your beneficial gut bacteria.

We love serving them with greek yoghurt, berries and a sprinkle of walnuts for a balanced breakfast or afternoon snack, but they’re just as good stirred through oats or on top of chia pudding too 🤤

Save this one for later if you’re looking for an easy recipe your gut will love when it’s playing up 💕

One of the greatest privileges of my work is being able to hold space for women to feel truly seen and heard 💕

So many women don’t realise how uncomfortable slowing down has become until they actually TRY to do it.

And the very second there’s a quiet moment, they reach for their phone, or start cleaning 🤪, organise something, work more or find something…anything else to do 😅

When your nervous system is so wound up with doing, rushing and pushing, it becomes the norm and it becomes comfortable. So our body seeks more of the same.

But it isn’t sustainable. At some point your body will snap because it wasn’t meant to function this way non stop.

So if you watched this reel and thought ‘that’s me’ maybe sit with these questions for a moment and create some awareness around what is actually driving this busyness pattern.

Feeling exhausted, anxious, not being able to sleep and irritable all the time is not normal AND you can change it x

Are you taking your iron supplements for maximum absorption? So many people are doing it wrong. Here’s how to do it right 👏

02/06/2026

Constantly taking iron supplements but your blood results aren’t improving? 😴

These are the most common mistakes we see in clinic when it comes to taking iron…*cough* please stop taking your iron with your tea *cough*.

Are you guilty of any of these? 🫣

Share this with your iron deficient friends so they don’t make the same mistakes.

I think a lot of women become so used to being in survival mode that slowing down almost starts to feel uncomfortable.

Always thinking about the next thing, always rushing and carrying the mental load 🤯

And after a while, the body can start to forget what calm actually feels like 😮‍💨

We see this a lot with women struggling with bloating, fatigue, hormone imbalances, sleep, anxiety and feeling completely wired by the end of the day.

And that’s because the body doesn’t separate emotional stress from physical stress.

Sometimes healing isn’t about adding MORE, it’s about doing less and creating some space (no matter how small) to allow your body to remember what calm feels like again.
