Weโ€™re not just opening doors - weโ€™re creating pathways to greater independence, connection, and wellbeing. ๐Ÿ’™

Helping you and your families to live life to the full!

Thank you to Vince (Mr Rogers), Rikki (Ms Costa), the team, and all the families at Caloundra Christian College for generously gifting these uniforms to children and families in the Solomon Islands! ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ง๐ŸŒด

A school uniform is so much more than a set of clothes. It represents belonging, identity, pride, and the exciting journey of learning ahead. ๐Ÿชด

For the children who will receive these uniforms, they are a tangible message that they are valued, included, and part of something bigger than themselves. ๐Ÿ’™

As schools update their uniforms, the opportunity to pass on brand-new items to students in developing nations creates an incredible ripple effect. What may no longer be needed in one community becomes a treasured gift in another, opening doors to confidence, participation, and educational opportunity. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

We look forward to the smiles, excitement, and sense of pride these uniforms will bring to the children who receive them as these ship out and cross the ocean over these coming months. ๐ŸŒ…

Through this generosity, Caloundra Christian College families are helping students enter their education with confidence and dignity. ๐Ÿ‘

On behalf of all the children and families who will be blessed by this gift we extend our deepest gratitude. From everyone at Zoe, thank you! โœจ

One of the most common things families say to us is: "I didn't know we could ask for a review."

Good news - You can! If your child's NDIS plan isn't meeting their needs because their circumstances have changed, a new diagnosis has been made, or you disagree with a decision the NDIA made, there are pathways available to you (even now, in the midst of change).

We've put both options, and the single most important thing you can do to prepare here. Share to any NDIS parent community where this might help. ๐Ÿ™

Note: Always confirm current review processes with the NDIA directly (1800 800 110) or your plan manager, as policy details can change. We're here to help, every step of the way. ๐ŸŒป

Five years! One very loved team. ๐ŸŽˆ

This week we swapped the clinic lunchroom for a picnic rug lakeside to celebrate five years of Zoe Allied Health and to say โ€œThank Youโ€ to the people who make it what it is. ๐Ÿฉท

From a 1 day room hire, 3 clients and 1 team member with a heart to love and serve others, to two Sunshine Coast clinics and an incredible team of women who genuinely care about every person who walks through our doors and into Zoeโ€™s care locally and globally. Weโ€™re so proud of how far weโ€™ve come, and even prouder of who weโ€™ve become along the way.

To our team - you are Zoe, truly the DreamTeam. You make peopleโ€™s lives better, every day. You allow us to provide life-giving and life-changing supports to people you may never even get to meet. Itโ€™s a privilege to serve you. Thank you for five beautiful years. Hereโ€™s to the next five. ๐Ÿ’™

If someone told you to only speak English at home they were trying to help, but the research doesn't support it.

Bilingualism doesn't cause speech or language delay. It doesn't confuse children. And it certainly doesn't mean you should sacrifice the language that connects your child to your family, your culture, and their identity. ๐ŸŒฟ

Here's what we know:

โ†’ Children raised bilingually reach the same developmental milestones as monolingual peers, vocabulary is just distributed across two languages.
โ†’ Code-switching (mixing languages mid-sentence) is developmentally appropriate between two to four year age range.
โ†’ The figure to watch is total vocabulary across ALL languages combined.

If you have genuine concerns about your child's speech development, not because they're bilingual, but because something feels off regardless of which language you're using, come and have a conversation with us. We work with multilingual families every week. โœจ

Bilingual parenting is a gift, enjoy it ๐Ÿซถ

Meet Sarah! โœจ

Sarah trained at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, graduating in 2022, and has been working as a Speech Pathologist in Australia, accredited with Speech Pathology Australia, working across early language, speech sound development, and supporting children and adolescents through every stage of their journey. ๐ŸŒฟ

What stood out to us when we met her was her joy. Sarah lights up talking about the families she works with, and she brings real curiosity, skill, and heart to every session. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™Œ

She's the kind of practitioner who will serve, support, and celebrate alongside you and we couldn't be happier to have her on the team!

Join with us in welcoming Sarah! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Your 3-year-old might have a 'speech thing', or it might be more specific than that.

Speech sound development follows a predictable sequence. By 3, most children are understood by both familiar and unfamiliar adults around 75% of the time. By 4, that rises to close to 100%. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ—ฃ

If you're often translating at kindy pick-up, at family gatherings, or over FaceTime with grandparents, that's good information.

Here's what often surprises families:

โ†’ The child can usually understand everything you say.
โ†’ They know exactly what they want to communicate.
โ†’ The disconnect is at the level of producing specific sounds, and that's something Speech Pathology can support. ๐ŸŒฟ

Early support isn't about drilling a child to talk differently. It's play-based, it's specific to the sounds that matter right now, and it works best when it starts before school.

No referral needed. No diagnosis required.

Save this post for later or send it to a parent who's been quietly wondering or worrying whether to say something, we'd love to help. ๐ŸŒป
