ACTDSID works with individuals and families through lifelong engagement to enable them to reach their full potential as active and contributing members of the wider community. ACTDSID collaborates and builds relationships with business, government and community organisations to create better outcomes for all of society.

Come and join us on Halloween night for a non-spooky all abilities disco👻

There will be prizes for the Best Costume and Best Group Costume, so make sure to dress up with your friends and family.

This is an all-ages event and is open to anyone wanting to have a fun time.

🎃 When: Friday 30th October 2026, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

🎃 Where: Majura Community Hall, 2 Rosevar Place, Dickson

🎃 Cost: $10.00 per ticket or $20.00 per family (+ GST and Humanitix Booking fee, 100% of the booking fee goes towards a charitable cause chosen by Humanitix).

Your ticket allows you to bring a support person at no cost. Group pricing is available upon request, please contact the office to organise.

Included in the price of your ticket are light snacks for you and your support person.

To attend please purchase your tickets by October 29th, 2026.

As this is a family event, we are unable to provide individual support. Very limited supervision will be provided so it is essential that support people attend. Please ensure each participant has appropriate support/ supervision to have a wonderful and safe time!

Come and join us for our annual StepUp! for Down syndrome event on the 25th of October 2026.

This year we will be doing a fun family picnic at the Kambah Adventure Playground. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a nice day in the community with friends and family🌞🌻

ACTDSID staff will be there from 12:00pm, and we hope to see some new and familiar faces on the day!

This workshop is for people with Down syndrome or intellectual disability.

Find out what your rights in the workplace are.
Learn who can help you if you have difficulties in the workplace.

This workshop is suitable for:
📍people in a job
📍people looking for work
📍people new to the workforce
📍people transition from school to work

A light dinner will be provided.

Help up celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October 2026!

In October, we would like to showcase our community and part of this will be putting a spotlight on some of our fabulous members with Down syndrome. If you or a family member would like to be involved, please send us a photo or two and a paragraph explaining an achievement or something special you would like to share with the community. We want to hear about anything that is important to you or your family! We want to hear about people learning to tie shoelaces, learning to walk, starting school, riding a bike, taking a dance class, starting or finishing high school, getting a job, going out for dinner with friends, moving out of home, playing a boardgame, learning to cook, going on a holiday - the possibilities are endless!
