Diabetes affects millions of Australians, and for many people the signs can be easy to miss. National Diabetes Week is a reminder to stay on top of your health and not ignore changes in your body.

When detected early, type 2 diabetes can often be managed effectively, helping to reduce the risk of long-term complications and improve overall health outcomes.

Your GP can support you with practical lifestyle changes such as improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, managing weight, improving sleep, and reducing other risk factors.

If you have concerns about diabetes, a family history of the condition, or it’s been a while since your last health check, speak with your GP about whether screening may be right for you.
