What type of back pain are you experiencing?

Back pain isn’t one-size-fits-all. Understanding the type of pain you have is the first step toward managing it.

🤔 Non-specific low back pain
Around 8 in 10 cases fall into this category, where there’s no single identifiable cause. Often linked to muscles, joints or everyday strain.

⚡ Acute back pain
Short-term pain that can come on suddenly, often from lifting, movement or minor injury.

⏳ Chronic back pain
Pain that persists for 12 weeks or more, sometimes continuing even after the initial cause has resolved.

➡️ Referred or radiating pain
Pain that travels, such as down the leg, often linked to nerve involvement.

🧠 Back pain doesn’t just affect the body - it can also impact mental wellbeing, contributing to stress, fatigue and reduced quality of life.

Understanding your pain is the first step to getting back to feeling good.

Is your desk causing you neck or back pain? Read on to discover how continuous, extensive sitting affects your neck and body 👇

The human body is made for movement. However, the World Health Organisation found that one of the leading risk factors for poor health outcomes is physical inactivity. Prolonged sitting can result in poor posture and spinal pressure.

Extra strain is placed on muscles supporting the neck, upper back and lower spine when people lean towards their screens, crane their necks or round their shoulders. Gradually, this can result in muscular fatigue, spinal compression, abnormal disc loading, stiff neck and back, shoulder tension, reduced flexibility, tighter hip flexors and reduced circulation.

Chiropractic can help improve joint function and stimulate muscle activity and circulation. Professional advice on posture, stretches and exercise can help counter the damaging long-term effects of a 'sitting job'.

Stay healthy and active so you can move through your day with ease and energy.
