This small brown mark on the shoulder is subtle. But is obviously a melanoma when assessed with a dermatoscope.

Angulated lines, White lines, grey, dot and linear vessels.

Winter may feel cooler, but don't underestimate the Aussie sun.

A round of golf can mean spending several hours outdoors and that UV exposure accumulates even when the air feels mild and sunburn seems unlikely.

Before heading to the course, check the UV Index, apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+, wear protective clothing, a hat and sunglasses, and remember to reapply sunscreen during a longer round.
