Aidil Adha commemorates Ibrahim's act of submission โ€” his willingness to give up what he loved most, and the mercy that met him in that moment. Qurbani flows from that: a concrete, communal act of giving, making sure the people around you don't go without.

For people in CALD communities navigating disability, being the one who "would otherwise go without" isn't always about food. It's gathering spaces that weren't built for them, celebration days where support doesn't show up, being far from the people who just understand.

The theology of this day says that's not acceptable. The feast isn't complete if someone who belongs there isn't in it.
