🌿🍃 Hello, Nature Playgroup families! 🍃🌿

My name is Mariah Hanson, and I’m so excited to be the new coordinator of Nature Playgroup at the Tasmanian Arboretum! 🌳💚

A little bit about me — I’m a mum of three, and we live close to the Arboretum, which we love visiting together as a family. 💚 I’ve also worked as an early childhood educator for over 10 years, so I’m passionate about supporting little ones as they learn, explore and discover the world around them. 🌱🦋

I can’t wait to meet some new faces, reconnect with familiar ones, and enjoy some beautiful mornings exploring nature together!

🌼 Join us every Monday in November!

📍 Tasmanian Arboretum

We’ll meet at the first rotunda next to the café before heading off on our nature walk.

🎒 What to bring: A hat, drink bottle and a snack.

🌿 A little reminder: The Arboretum kindly welcomes visitors through an admission fee at the car park or kiosk. Please remember admission and/or membership contributes towards the upkeep of this beautiful space.

Whether you’re a regular or joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome! Come along, meet other local families, let the little ones explore, and enjoy some time outdoors together. 💚

💛 You don't need to fill a whole bag to make a difference! 🎄

The Devonport Salvation Army is working towards 500 Bags of Hope this Christmas, helping local individuals and families enjoy a little extra support during the festive season.

There are lots of ways you can assist!

🛒 Pick up a few extra items during your next grocery shop.
🥫 Add a tin of vegetables, some gravy or a tin of meat to your donation.
☕ Grab some tea, coffee, long-life milk or custard.
🍫 Include a festive treat to help make Christmas feel a little more special.

You can donate a few items, fill a whole bag, or team up with family, friends or colleagues to put together a collection.

💡 Ring-pull tins and long expiry dates are preferred. Gluten-free and vegetarian alternatives are also welcome.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at the current collection points:

• Devonport Salvation Army Store and Office
• Leaping Goat Coffee Quioba
• Little Goat Coffee – Stewart Street
• paranaple arts centre

📅 Please return donations by the first week of December to allow time for everything to be sorted and delivered before Christmas.

Garage Sale Trail is Australia's biggest second-hand treasure hunt.

Every November, homes, unit blocks, schools, community groups, charities and pubs across the country host garage sales and second-hand markets, on the same two weekends.

It’s all about turning unwanted items into cash, scoring rare vintage bargains and keeping good stuff out of landfill.
