Meet Stacey Goodall a proud Gija woman from Boorloo, trying to change the local catering with her business All Good Grub Bushtukka Catering.

As a teenager, Stacey spent most of her time cooking to get herself through the years. Her dad was taken away from his family and a member of the stolen generation and cooking became a bridge to learn about her heritage and culture.

For those wanting to try Stacey's food, they operate out of the Austria Club of WA and serve food out of the club on Fridays and Sunday's night as the venues restaurant.

For those looking to try more of her bushtukka catering and native flavours head to All Good Grub Bushtukka Catering to order now.

Last week, as National Homelessness week drew to a close, Wungening celebrated 5 years of our accommodation shelter Boorloo Bidee Mia (BBM).

We thank Minister Matt Swinbourn MLC for attending these celebrations and also to the team at BBM for coordinating a fantastic celebration that was filled with community, compassion and heart. It is the BBM team who are at the forefront of everything we do in our housing programs, and it is because of them we have been able to reach the five year mark.

It was an amazing way to end National Homelessness Week, and also raise awareness to the new minister on what we are doing for rough sleepers, how we are doing it, and most importantly the why, being the people we help everyday through our housing and homelessness services.

Earlier this week on the 28th of August, Wungening celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day.

The celebration was held at Kings Park, and was an opportunity for families through our foster care, out of home care and Moort programs.

The result was a variety of children from varying walks of life, surrounded by a community filled with their culture, and other children they could connect with.

Our Foster care team put on a fabulous event filled with fun, laughter, good food and even better memories for the koolangkas to remember the day by.

Today is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day!

How are you and your Koolangkas celebrating?

This year's theme is Living Our Truth, celebrating the journeys Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander children take as they grow, guided by culture, community
and connection to Country. Together, we can nurture their voices and dreams and
support a future where every child walks strong in their identity.

It's National Homelessness Week, from August 3rd to 9th.

This is a critical time to shine a light on the issue of homelessness and challenge the stereotypes surrounding it. In Australia, over 122,000 people are experiencing homelessness on any given night, and alarmingly, the fastest-growing group is women over 55.

As a provider of housing and homelessness services, we know there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a tangible difference in your community, from volunteering your time to donating goods or simply raising awareness.

Today, and always we advocate for systemic change for our rough sleepers.
