Meet the Team Monday! 👋🏻

This week we’re excited to introduce Dr Bernardo Goldstein to the FTMC Group team.

Dr Goldstein is a dedicated General Practitioner with a strong commitment to providing compassionate, evidence based care to patients of all ages. He enjoys all aspects of general practice & values building long term relationships with individuals & families, helping them achieve their best possible health.

Before pursuing general practice, Dr Goldstein gained extensive experience working in Emergency Medicine, developing strong skills in the assessment & management of acute & complex medical conditions.

His clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, men’s health, skin cancer medicine & minor procedures.

Dr Goldstein is passionate about delivering patient-centred care & believes in working collaboratively with patients to develop personalised treatment plans. He strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, respected & supported.

Outside of medicine, Dr Goldstein enjoys travelling, cooking & spending time outdoors with family & friends.

Meet the Team Monday! 👋🏻

This week we’re excited to introduce Dr Heather Rae to the FTMC Group team as a Term 1 GP Registrar.

Dr Rae completed her medical degree at the University of the Free State, South Africa in 2015 before spending seven years working within the South African hospital system. During this time, she gained extensive experience across Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Primary Health Care, before relocating to Australia in 2023 to be closer to her family.

Dr Rae’s clinical interests include paediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health & dermatology, while she enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Outside of medicine, Dr Rae enjoys spending time at dinners with friends & riding her gravel bike. She is excited to become part of the Forster community & is looking forward to joining the local parkrun.

Wellness Wednesday 🦴 | Healthy bones start today

Strong bones are something we can support throughout our lives.

Healthy habits such as getting enough calcium & vitamin D, staying active with weight training & resistance exercise, building muscle strength & keeping alcohol within recommended limits can all contribute to better bone health.

It’s also important to know your individual risk of osteoporosis. A history of fractures, family history or certain medications may mean it’s worth discussing your bone health with your GP.

A DXA (bone density) scan may be recommended to assess bone mineral density & fracture risk, depending on your individual circumstances.

If you’re concerned about your bone health, speak with your GP about whether a bone health assessment is right for you.

🦴 Don’t wait for a fracture to start thinking about your bones.

This week we’re continuing to introduce our new GPs!

Dr Nay Chi Win has joined the FTMC Group team as a Term 4 GP Registrar.

Dr Win is committed to providing compassionate, patient centred care & building long term relationships with her patients.

Dr Win grew up in Myanmar (Burma) & graduated from the University of Medicine, Yangon. She moved to Australia to continue her medical career & completed almost three years of residency training at Mackay Base Hospital & Mackay Mater Private Hospital in Queensland, gaining broad clinical experience across a wide range of medical & surgical specialties.

Prior to joining FTMC, Dr Win provided general practice care to the communities of Scone & Murrurundi in rural NSW. She also worked at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone, caring for emergency department presentations, hospital inpatients & residents of aged care facilities.

Dr Win enjoys all areas of general practice, with clinical interests including skin cancer medicine, skin checks & minor skin surgery, emergency medicine, children’s health, women’s health, mental health, chronic disease management & preventative healthcare.

Outside of medicine, Dr Win enjoys travelling, exploring local cafés & restaurants, and spending time by the coast.
