Last week we got into the Bavarian spirit and celebrated Oktoberfest in true Wheatfields style! 🥨🍺

There was plenty of laughter, delicious food, music and of course a little German fun! Our residents had a wunderbar time!

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Wheatfields is hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast on Friday 23 October, bringing friends and family together to support a cause close to many hearts. 💗

We’re raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support vital research and their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

🌊🚶‍♀️ OCEANS TO OUTBACK – JOIN OUR TEAM! 🚶‍♂️🌾

This October, Wheatfields is taking on the Oceans to Outback Challenge to support the incredible work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. 💙

We’ve set ourselves a big walking goal and we’d love our staff, families, friends and community to get involved.

👟 Join our team and add your kilometres to our total
💙 Make a donation and help support the lifesaving work of the RFDS
📍 Follow our journey with weekly Facebook check-ins as we track our kilometres and see which part of Australia we’ve “walked” our way to!

Will we make it across South Australia? Into the outback? Even further? 😄

What a day we have planned!

Come along to the Freeling F.A.R.M Centre between 10:00am and 2:00pm and see everything that’s happening.

When you arrive, make sure your first stop is the Welcome Stall where you can:

🕵️ Grab a FREE kids’ scavenger hunt bag and solve the riddles to collect little goodies along the way

💃🇲🇽 MEXICAN FIESTA DAY! 🇲🇽💃🌮

We brought a little taste of Mexico to Wheatfields with a day full of music, food, fun and plenty of laughter! 🎉

We danced along to Mexican music 💃, enjoyed a delicious Mexican feast with tacos, enchiladas, churros and Mexican drinks 🌮 and even had a go at breaking the piñata! 🎊

We watched the beautiful Disney movie Coco 🎶 and finished off the fun with a game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey 🫏😂

What a fabulous fiesta it was colourful, delicious and definitely full of fun!

Are you a newly graduated Registered Nurse, an RN within your first 1–2 years of practice, or an experienced Registered Nurse looking to transition into the rewarding world of aged care?

Wheatfields is excited to offer 1–2 Registered Nurse positions to participate in the Aged Care Transition to Practice Program (TTPP) through Ageing Australia.

Successful applicants will commence employment with Wheatfields prior to the formal program commencement in September 2026, providing an opportunity to settle into the team, become familiar with our residents, and build confidence in the aged care environment before commencing the structured learning component.

This fully supported program offers the opportunity to:

Wheatfields is currently seeking a passionate and caring individual to join our Catering Team. This position offers permanent hours, with additional opportunities to assist in covering annual leave and other rostered shifts.

No previous aged care experience is required – just:

✨ A commitment to providing quality meals for our residents

Working in aged care is incredibly rewarding, and we will provide support and training in areas such as modified diets, texture-modified meals, and the specialised nutritional needs of older people.
