Body Socks & Proprioceptive Input 🌈
Proprioception is the body’s ability to understand where it is in space and how it is moving. We get proprioceptive input through our muscles and joints whenever we push, pull, squeeze, jump, crash or stretch.
Body socks provide this input through gentle resistance and deep pressure as children move their bodies inside them. This type of sensory input can help the nervous system feel more organised and regulated.
Proprioceptive input may support:
✨ Calming and regulation
✨ Body awareness
✨ Spatial awareness
✨ Coordination and motor planning
✨ Attention and focus
✨ Feeling safe and connected to their body
For many children, this input can be especially helpful when they are feeling overwhelmed, dysregulated or seeking movement and sensory feedback!
