We’ve exercised together for a very long time - here’s Dr Ginny, 16 years old, carrying me to the car after a boot camp class (I don't know how she fell for that idea).
Moving our bodies boosts our mood, improves our sleep, strengthens our hearts, and gives us more energy for the vital things in life, like keeping up with an ever-growing to-do list. It also releases feel-good chemicals in our brains, which is probably nature’s way of rewarding us for doing things that involve discomfort.
The promising news? We don’t need to run a marathon; even a walk around the block counts. Our bodies really don’t care whether we’re training for the Olympics or chasing an ice cream truck! And, if exercise feels like a foreign language, start small.
With respect and love,
